Report: Calif. DMV Investigates McMahon’s RV
California’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is investigating McMahon’s RV, a Westminster-based company that’s dealing with legal issues and a recent spate of customer complaints.
The Orange County Register reported that the DMV confirmed the probe but could not provide further comment, as it’s an open, “law-enforcement related” case, agency spokesman Artemio Armenta said in an email.
McMahon’s, one of the largest recreational-vehicle companies in the state, has been accused by customers of taking their money but failing to deliver promised vehicles or fix issues discovered during inspections.
The dealership has been tangled in a court battle in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana with GE Commercial Distribution Finance Corp., which provided McMahon credit to finance its RV inventory. GE has accused McMahon of defaulting on payments and continuing to sell financed RVs to consumers, even after receiving default notices, court records show.
