Travel Channel Features Equine Motorcoach
Equine Motorcoach was showcased on the June 26 edition of Travel Channel’s Mega RV Countdown. According to a press release, the show features the U.S. based manufacturer’s all-in-one RV and two-horse transport with queen bedroom and full living accommodations.
Julie Phillips and her daughter, Alyssa, were featured with their Equine Motorcoach. Alyssa Phillips is a championship three-day event rider and has won multiple gold medals at the North American Young Riders Championships. The mother-daughter team travel year round to events throughout the United States.
Side and rear cameras assist in keeping all sight lines open for driving and parking. The Equine Motorcoach is also equipped with an Allison 4000 TRV automatic transmission built on a Freightliner Cascadia chassis with a 600-hp Cummins diesel engine.
The Phillips’ Equine Motorcoach has a full-size living area, kitchen, bathroom as well as all of the amenities you would expect to find in a home. The horse transport area is climate controlled and features an air ride for the horses as well as the passengers.
An inside tack room is accessible from the living quarters and the outside of the transport, which can tow another 20 feet and 30,000 pounds The Equine Motorcoach can be loaded with an additional 16,000 pounds, which is more than enough capacity for two horses, feed, hay and cargo.
Equine Motorcoach was born at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May 2006 when Carolyn Stinnett and Julie Calzone made their second trip to the event that is held on the grounds of Queen Elizabeth’s Windsor Castle. The Stinnetts and Julie Calzone are partners in the Louisville, Ky.-based company.
