Hall’s Induction Reservations on Record Pace
Attendance at this year’s RV/MH Hall of Fame Induction Dinner honoring the incoming Class of 2014 has already surpassed reservations for last year’s ceremonies and is poised to set a new record for the number of attendees.
“With less than two weeks to go before this year’s event, the number of dinner reservations has topped 400, beating last year’s 311 attendance,” said Darryl Searer, president of the RV/MH Hall of Fame, in a press release. “Using history as a gauge, when typically about 25% of reservations are made within the last two weeks prior to the dinner, we expect to exceed the all-time record of 434 since moving into our new facility seven years ago.”
“I think the enthusiasm for participating in honoring these inductees says a couple of things,” Searer said. “First, the Hall of Fame selection committee made excellent recommendations for the Class of 2014, and also, members of the RV and manufactured housing communities have a renewed interest and confidence in the long-term viability of the hall of fame, museum and its programs.”
This year’s annual Induction Dinner will be held on Aug. 4 at the Hall of Fame’s Event Center in Elkhart, Ind. The festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by a gala dinner and induction ceremony at 7 p.m.
Again this year, there will be a private cocktail party from 4-5:30 p.m honoring past Hall of Fame inductees and the Class of 2014 hosted by the RV/MH Heritage Foundation’s board of directors.
The other good news is the 2014 RV/MH Hall of Fame Golf Classic fundraiser has also surpassed last year’s event, according to Searer. The golf outing will start at 7 a.m. with a full breakfast followed by a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. followed by an awards presentation. This year the golf classic will again be hosted by The Bent Oak Golf Club in Elkhart.
Searer said, “We believe this will be an historic day for the Hall, and I want to encourage all members of the RV and manufactured housing industries to come and be part of it. There is still time to sign up for both the induction ceremonies as well as the golf fundraiser.”
