They will be turning back the clock this weekend at the South Bend/Elkhart North KOA located in Granger, Ind.

The South Bend Tribune reported that recreational vehicles from as far back as the 1950s are expected to be among nearly 80 trailers on hand for the Seventh Annual Vintage RV Rally that begins today (July 24) and runs through Sunday.

A free open house for the public takes place from 1-4 p.m. Saturday. The rest of the time, campers are expected to swap stories, have fun and give each other tips on how they keep their older RVs operating.

“You see stuff that you don’t see every day,” said Patricia Schenk, who owns the campground with her husband, Thomas Jetzer. “Everybody knows what a motorhome looks like.”

But this weekend, which also features vintage soda pop tasting and a gelato shop, is about something different. The theme is “Christmas in July.” Visitors to the open house can even tour the classic RVs on Saturday.
