The 25th Annual Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show, sponsored by the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC), is expanding to take up the entire 214,000 square feet of showroom floor at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Mich.

In recent years, the Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show had occupied roughly two-thirds of the show floor, with the remaining space occupied by a Home & Garden Show running concurrent with the RV show.

The expansion is due to the improved economy and the resurgence of the RV industry, according to MARVAC Executive Director Bill Sheffer, who said the extra floor space should appeal to dealers looking to make a strong push for a certain type of buyer.

“This gives dealers an opportunity to appeal to those who come to the show looking for bigger motorized units, such as snowbirds and retirees,” Sheffer said, adding extended stay fifth-wheels also fit into this category. “And, at least from the dealers I’ve been in contact with, they’ll be bringing their ‘big stuff’ to the show.”

The 25th Annual Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show is Oct. 1-5. Hours are: 2-9 p.m. weekdays; 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. The Suburban Collection Showplace is located on Grand River, south of I-96 between Novi and Beck roads.

More than 275 units and 50 brands will be on display, including folding campers, motorhomes, travel trailers, truck campers and fifth-wheel travel trailers. Booths featuring parts and accessories, campground information, on-site RV financing and RV rentals make this the complete RV show experience..

MARVAC is a nonprofit, state trade association that represents all segments of the recreation vehicle and private campground industries in Michigan.
