Lippert Unveils ‘Waste Master’ at FROG Rally
Lippert Components Inc. unveiled its new RV waste management system during this week’s 3rd Annual International Rally of Forest River Owners’ Group (FROG) at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds in Goshen, Ind.
Gary Bunzer, known as “The RV Doctor” who’s a columnist and author on RV service and repair, served as the spokesman during the unveiling, demonstrating how the product works for the assembled FROG members. Lippert recently acquired the waste management system from Waste Master.
“To me, folks, this is the finest hose and the last hose you will ever buy,” Bunzer said. “We have not experienced the death of one yet. We’ve never had one fail under testing.”
According to company literature, the Waste Master features “a secure cam lock, a tough clean hose and a user-friendly nozzle.” Unlike a bayonet connection which can leak, the cam lock fitting has been used in the “liquid transportation industry for decades and are proven to provide a strong, reliable seal.”
The hose, which is helical coil on the outside and much smoother on the inside, will not trap debris like a traditional coiled hose. It is UV-protected and measures five feet compressed and 20 feet extended. At one point during the seminar, Bunzer stepped on the hose to show its strength. The hose compressed, but did not break and returned to form.
The permanently connected molded nozzle features a grip, integrated on-off valve and a clear section to see when the waste is completely evacuated. The nozzle has a 90-degree discharge port and its tapered end ensures a snug connection into most sewage inlets.
The Waste Master eventually will be sold at most major retailers as an aftermarket accessory. MSRP is $169.95.
Brian Hess, product manager for Lippert’s Chassis Division, said that several RVs on display at the Elkhart Open House, Sept. 15-19, and as many as 32 at the National RV Trade Show, Dec. 2-4 in Louisville. will feature the Waste Master.
