            A number of high-profile suppliers will be conducting training seminars on Sept. 8-9 during Industry Days at America’s Largest RV Show in Hershey, Pa. To sign up for sessions click here.

Hosted by the Pennsylvania Recreational Vehicle & Camping Association (PRVCA), the event will open with Industry Days followed by Public Days Sept. 10-14. PRVCA reported that it is looking for a record-breaking year with manufacturer and vendor space up significantly from 2013.

The schedule for training seminars is as follows:

Lippert Components Inc.

Sept. 8, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Giant Center, Champions Club; $30 (lunch included)

Lippert technical trainers will present a seminar on some of the industry’s most popular components and systems, including slideouts, leveling and Correct Track. The trainers will present detailed information on LCI’s Schwintek InWall Slideout system, Level-Up hydraulic leveling and Correct Track. Information provided will include an overview of each system’s operation, as well as a variety of troubleshooting techniques – including  hands-on experience via mockups. Each seminar will also feature quick tips for diagnosing various issues. Regular and preventative maintenance will also be covered. The training qualifies for six recertification hours.

• Norcold

Sept. 8, 10 a.m. 2 p.m.; Giant Center, Green Room; $20 (lunch included)

Instructor Brent Grieves will present a seminar on Norcold’s cooling unit and how it works, including ventilation, burner and orifice, spark electrode, heaters and downdraft effects. Diagnostics, removal, resealing and testing information will also be discussed. The seminar will include details on the Power Board’s codes, flow charts and diagnostic screens as well as the icemaker diagnostics and water valve information.  A question and answer session will conclude the training. Session qualifies for four RV technician recertification hours.

• Atwood Mobile Products LLC

Sept. 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; $30 (includes lunch)

The session, which qualifies for six recertification hours, will include:

Provide Service contact information; cover the required tools and equipment; identify product by model and serial number; provide material training; cover the sequence of operations; component identification; testing in volt, ohms, and amps; installation – gas pressure, voltage, ducting, and return air; hands-on testing, disassembling, and reassembling; warranty procedures.

• Cequent Performance Products

Sept. 9, 10 a.m. to noon; fee is $10

Tom Romero, technical training director for Cequent Performance Products, will demonstrate the latest products, features and installation tips for Reese fifth-wheels hitches, rail kits, weight distribution, pin box upgrade replacements; Tekonsha brake controls; and Bulldog Powered Trailer Jack. Qualifies for two recertification hours. 

Thetford Corp.

Sept. 9, 10 a.m. to noon; fee is $10

Instructor Brent Grieves will share information on Thetford holding tank chemicals and seal lubricants during the session, which qualifies for two recertification hours. A service and parts breakdown will also be held on the following toilet models: Bravara; Aria; Aqua Magic Style Lite; and Tecma.

Blue Ox

Sept. 9, 1-3 p.m.; fee is $10

Blue Ox presents a seminar for technicians and service advisers explaining how simply asking customers the right questions can increase profit and customer loyalty. Examples of questions will be given. The seminar will also include an overview on how Blue Ox Products can shorten your installation time. Qualifies for two recertification hours.

Titan International 

Sept. 9, 1-3 p.m.; fee is $10

Training will cover installing hydraulic disc brakes on fifth-wheels and travel trailers and will offer actual installation steps, including trouble-shooting guides. Product information on the disc brakes, electric over hydraulic actuator and brake lines will be offered, including retro-fitting current trailers with electric drum brakes along with a full description of all parts used in the installation. Also will be informative for service managers and parts people. Qualifies for two recertification hours.
