Workamper News Inc., serving the Workamping RVer for more than 27 years, in partnership with the Mobile RV Academy, is producing 14 training events over the fall of 2014 and into the spring of 2015.

Due to increased demand for professional training in the RV industry, Terry Cooper, the “Texas RV Professor” as well as an RVDA/RVIA Master Certified RV Technician and professional instructor/trainer, has created this five-day hands-on training course.

During the five days, each student will receive training in these five key RV systems: Electrical; Propane; Water systems – sewer and fresh; RV appliances, air conditioners, water heaters, furnaces and refrigerators; and RV exterior systems.

Upcoming training weeks and locations are:

  • Sept. 22-26, Manheim, Pa., at Pennsylvania Dutch County RV Resort.
  • Oct. 13-17, Heber Springs, Ark., at Wagon Circle.
  • Nov. 10-14, Canton, Texas, at Mill Creek RV Park.
  • Nov. 17-21, New Braunfels, Texas, at Hill Country RV Resort.
  • Dec. 8-12, Bakersfield, Calif., at Orange Grove RV Park.
  • Dec. 15-19, Mesa, Ariz., at Mesa Spirit RV Resort.
  • Feb. 2-6, Eustis, Fla., at Southern Palms RV Resort.
  • Feb. 9-13, Destin, Fla., at Camp Gulf RV Park & Campground.
  • March 9-13, Canton, Texas, at Mill Creek RV Park.
  • March 16-20, New Braunfels, Texas at Hill Country RV Resort.
  • March 30-April 3, Indio, Calif., at Shadow Hills RV Resort.
  • April 13-17, Mesa, Ariz., at Mesa Spirit RV Resort.
  • May 4-8, Redding, Calif., at JGW RV Park.
  • May 18-22, Eugene, Ore., at Premier RV Park.

Along with the technical training, students interested in developing their own RV Inspection business will have live course modules available during the training week.

The RV Maintenance Technician for Campgrounds course started out to train Workampers with technical skills to improve their marketability to future campground employers. After the Spring 2013 sessions, many students took the course for their personal use to care for their own RV. Some are marketing themselves as Campground Technicians to future employers and many are taking their skills and becoming RV Inspectors and starting their own small businesses.
