1252-final with pins copyMarathon Coach’s 1250th bus conversion is now in production. According to a press release, Marathon Coach, founded in 1983, is the first company to build over 1,000 custom luxury bus conversions.

“When I started with the company back in 1993, we were on bus 220,” said President and owner Steve Schoellhorn. “Having our 1250th bus in production is a really exciting milestone. I want to thank all of our talented employees, and of course our customers, for their support over the years. It’s their commitment to quality and excellence that has kept Marathon Coach at the forefront of the industry.”

Built on a Prevost H3-45 chassis, the quad-slide coach is scheduled for completion late August. Featuring contemporary design elements in shades of warm taupe and rich chocolate brown with deep indigo blue accents inside and out, there is a focus on transitional décor and a California design viewpoint.

“Over the years, technology has really driven product evolution in all facets of coach functions, and even coach interiors and exteriors,” said Vice President of Interior Design Engineering Al Christianson. “I’ve seen ease of function and operation evolve immensely, which is key as RVs are meant to be enjoyed.

“Technology has allowed these sophisticated coaches to become quite simple to operate. For instance, we’ve reduced a huge number of remote controls found throughout the motorcoach to a simple operating system, easily accessible through your iPhone or iPad. With one touch of a button, you can now complete what used to be a very involved series of commands.”

Often referred to as “employee number one” for short, Christianson was the company’s first official employee, joining Marathon on September 1, 1983.

The coach will come equipped with the latest technology, including the company’s patented TechLink electrical system, Crestron control system, 4K televisions and Freedom Plus, Marathon’s patented pre-connected sewer hose system.
