Banks Power has introduced three new products for the 2013-17 Ram 6.7L engine. According to a press release, the components are designed to maximize intake air flow, increase boost air density, and can be used together, or separately. The products will be on display at the Ultimate Callout Challenge event, taking place at Lucas Oil Raceway April 21-13.

Products include:

• The Banks Ram-Air Cold Air Intake for 2013-2017 Ram 6.7L engine: Intake systems start out as CAD software prototypes and are put through flow simulations. After a hardware prototype is made, it’s tested on a flowbench and then on the vehicle. Banks also density-tests the Ram-Air against stock and many competitors. An enclosed cold-air housing, huge inlet, giant dome-shaped lifetime filter and streamlined design maximizes the flow of cool, dense air to the engine for greater power and fuel economy. It flows 50% better than stock, and delivers greater air density to the turbo’s inlet than the stock system and all competitors tested. An optional super-scoop provides improves results and helps yield a longer service life. Ram-Air is also designed to not cause fault or error codes. • Banks Power Intercooler: Banks Power recently introduced the Banks Intercooler for the 2013-17 RAM 6.7L Cummins diesel engines, designed to eliminate airflow restrictions and increase boost air density. The product includes oversized mandrel-bent high flow boost tubes, larger diameter inlet and outlets for increased flow, computational fluid dynamics, and designed cast aluminum end tanks providing uniform airflow into the intercooler core, which 1.66 inches thicker than stock. The combined result is an overall 44% improvement in cooling volume flowing, 53% more CFM than stock. The Banks Intercooler also offers a 55% reduction in pressure loss over stock and has a higher level of instantaneous and continuous cooling. The bottom line is improving airflow lowers boost loss which increases air density and oxygen content of the air entering the engine, effectively amplifying power, lowering exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) and improving fuel economy. nb• Banks Power Monster-Ram Intake for 2007.5-2017 Ram 6.7L engine: Leveraging Bank’s 59 years of racing engine airflow experience, the intake is engineered to eliminate airflow restrictions for improved throttle response, and to be far more-free flowing than the restrictive stock intake. The Monster-Ram has internal humps and bumps in the air flow path to clear the No. 1 cylinder injector line and uses an OEM quality custom fuel line that clears properly. In a side-by-side flow test of 3.5-inch intakes, the stock unit flowed 432 CFM, the closest competitor flowed 798 CFM, while the Bank’s intake flowed 906 CFM. This improved airflow allows the engine to respond more quickly to throttle input, and the increased efficiency improves MPG. The cast aluminum Monster-Ram intake deletes the EGR and throttle body, and is available with inlet size options of 3.5 inches (OEM size) or 4 inches. Available in red powder coat, or unpainted finishes.
