The Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) is informing its members that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has issued a national solicitation for travel trailers to use in emergency temporary housing efforts in the aftermath Hurricane Harvey.

According to, where the association has been posting updates and resources in the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the solicitation dated Sept. 15 states: 

“This is a full and open solicitation throughout the United States with exclusion of the state of Florida to provide brand name or equivalent travel trailers and delivery for the housing mission in the state of Texas.”

  • Brands of travel trailers that are part of the request.
  • Deadlines for submission.
  • A spreadsheet to provide specific inventory available.
  • Special instructions for businesses located in Texas and Florida that respond to the request.

RVDA has been in contact with the Texas RV Association (TRVA) and the Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) regarding this request, which is being made through the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Business Opportunities website.
