Year-over-year Canadian towable sales rose 7% during the first seven months of 2017, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).
Results by segment showed:
• Travel trailer sales grew 9.3% year-to-date.
• Canadian fifth-wheel sales edged up 2.6 % through July.
• Folding camping trailer registrations fell 7.8% year-to-date.
• Park model RV sales rose by 3 units for the seven months.
Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towable sales leader through July with a 55.8% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. which notched a 33.5% share.
Thor was the leader in travel trailer sales for the seven months, claiming a 57.1% market share, followed by Forest River (33.2%). Thor was No. 1 in Canadian fifth-wheel sales, capturing a 57.1% market share, followed by Forest River (27%) and Grand Design RV Co. (10.8%).
Forest River led year-to-date Canadian folding camping trailer sales with a 67.6% market share while Thor posted a 22% share.
