The RV Preventive Maintenance course, hosted by Northampton Community College in conjunction with the Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association (PRVCA), opens Oct. 23 and runs through Nov. 19.

The online program allows students to gain an in-depth understanding of recreation vehicle maintenance with intensive, competency-based instruction. Students simply log on to access the lecture notes, hands-on assignments, quizzes and chat with the instructor and other students. The program gives students the flexibility to complete the course from the comfort of their home or dealership without having the expense of traveling to a training facility.

The course explains where the varying technical aspects from each of the previous courses come together. Preventive maintenance of every major component in every major system on the RV is the focus. To successfully complete this course, the student must have a thorough understanding of each system on the RV. Students are actually shown how the practices detailed in the text are applied.

The program is approved by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Associaton (RVDA), and qualifies for 28 recertification hours. Students receive a certificate of completion successful completion of the course. The program is designed for RV maintenance and sales personnel, service managers, factory field technicians, service representatives, inspectors and those seeking a new, hands-on career in a growing industry.
