Arrow Distributing Set for ’18 Exhibitor Showcase

Arrow Distributing is expecting a strong turnout for its 2018 Exhibitor’s Showcase, set for Jan. 16-17 at the IP Casino Resort & Spa in Biloxi, Miss.

Andy Mullin, vice president of the family-owned RV distribution company headquartered in Omaha, Neb., said this is the second year in a row the event has been held at the 1,100-room four-diamond resort that features 1,600 slots, 60 table games and a smoke-free gaming area.

While the IP Resort has its own appeal, Mullin said the real draw for dealer personnel is to take advantage of the “best buying opportunity of the year.” At the same time, the showcase is a chance for Arrow employees and their dealer clients to strengthen relationships that often go back many years.

“Dealers will want to come to our show for many reasons. One, we’re a distributor who doesn’t compete against our dealers, online or on Amazon, and that is really attractive to most dealerships out there,” Mullin said. “Secondly, we call our show the ‘best buying opportunity’ of the year for a reason. We get discounts passed on from vendors and we match those discounts, so we can provide dealers with rock-bottom pricing.”

Mullin said the fact that Arrow is a family-owned business – offering nine warehouses and a comprehensive list of supplier products – provides the company with a distinct advantage appreciated by dealerships, most of which also are family-owned. This competitive advantage will be on full display at the showcase, Mullin pointed out.

“They can talk to the owner of the company and all attending employees at will, and they get a chance to talk to the vendors themselves. We ensure that the vendors take time out to answer questions for the dealers, and we really like to make it an interactive event,” he said, adding many of their dealer customers go back to Arrow’s founding in 1981.

As for the showcase itself, dealers can expect a VIP experience from the moment they land at the airport. Limousine service, sponsored by Blue Ox, will ferry dealers to the IP Casino Resort.

“Once they get in the limo, they’re given a beverage and a snack, and it really creates a comfortable environment right from the beginning. Now, they don’t have to hassle with how they’re getting to the resort,” Mullin said, adding the limos will ferry dealers at the completion of the showcase as well.

The showcase itself starts with nearly a full day of supplier-led seminars, which typically include education, show specials, and/or product introductions. The exhibitor floor opens the afternoon of the first day, and will be running the entire second day. Mullin said the show floor is “lively” as business is completed and friendships are forged. Cocktails each evening, not to mention the many entertainment options available in Biloxi, help complete the showcase experience.

Mullin made a point to invite noncustomer dealers to inquire about attending the showcase and discover for themselves “what differentiates Arrow Distributing from other RV distributors.” Since Arrow pretty much has the same products as competitors, he pointed out, the difference is customer service.

“We have good pricing; we have exemplary customer service,” Mullin said. “With Arrow, you’re not just a number. You’re an important customer, you’re a friend, and you’re family.”
