Year-over-year Canadian towable sales rose 9.8% during the first nine months of 2017, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).
Results by segment showed:
• Travel trailer sales grew 11.2% year-to-date.
• Canadian fifth-wheel sales were up 7% through September.
• Folding camping trailer registrations fell 5.3% for the nine months.
• Park model RV sales rose by four units for the nine months.
Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towable sales leader through September with a 55.4% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. which claimed a 33.7% share.
Thor was the leader in travel trailer sales for the nine months, claiming a 56.7% market share, followed by Forest River (33.5%). Thor was No. 1 in Canadian fifth-wheel sales, capturing a 57.3% market share, followed by Forest River (27%) and Grand Design RV Co. (11.1%).
Forest River led year-to-date Canadian folding camping trailer sales with a 68.7% market share while Thor posted a 21.4% share.
