The “RVBusiness Cash Bar Extravaganza,” a cocktail party hosted annually by RVBusiness during the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky., will be held again this year from 7:30-11:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 at “Bourbon Raw” – the same downtown 4th Street lounge (formerly known as “Maker’s Mark”) at which it’s been hosted for several years.

Also keeping with the tradition, the RVB party will include a 9:30(ish) appearance by the Louisville Pipe Band and another stirring rendition of “Amazing Grace.”

New this year, of course, is the fact that plenty of industry people will be joining RVIA, the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) and some of the RVBusiness staff for a first-ever “RV Industry Awards” event slated to take place from 7:30-8:30 p.m. just down the street at the Mercury Ballroom (611 4th St.). Along with RVDA’s DSI Quality Circle Awards and special RVIA presentations, this new all-industry reception will include the unveiling of the “2018 RVBusiness RV of the Year.”

Can the industry be in two places at once?

“Heck, yes,” said RVB Publisher Sherm Goldenberg. “We used to be in three or four places at once back in the day when conventions were conventions nationwide and people used to rotate from Onan’s Ohio River Cruise to the big shrimp at Chevrolet’s reception and the separate Ford, Winnebago, Coachmen and Holiday Rambler get-togethers. So, while RVBusiness is earnestly looking forward to participating in the inaugural all-industry awards event at the Mercury Ballroom, we’re equally excited about sharing a glass of wine and a bagpipe salute with all of our industry friends at the end of the day.”
