‘Great American Campout’ Sees 285,000 Pledges

In 2017, RV Trader partnered with Keystone RV and Yogi-Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts to support the National Wildlife Federation’s 13th annual Great American Campout. According to a press release, the Great American Campout ran from May to October and saw record-breaking participation with 285,000 pledges.

Two winners were selected from the pledges with one taking home the grand prize of a 2017 Keystone Bullet Colt RV and the other winning a one-week stay at a Jellystone Park, a $500 gift card, and a $250 Jellystone Park gift certificate. Additionally, since the campaign surpassed the goal of 150,000 pledges, the National Wildlife Federation plans to plant 5,000 native trees through its Trees for Wildlife program in an effort to bolster wildlife preservation and habitat restoration across the country.

Kay S. from Williston, N.D., was the winner of the Keystone Bullet Colt RV and shared: “This was completely unexpected. I spend a lot of time outdoors so the giveaway really piqued my interest. This new RV is going to allow me to experience my surroundings in a completely different way and I am looking forward to taking my first trip!”

“Seeing such a significant increase in participation from 2016 to 2017 is really inspiring,” remarked Maureen Smith, head of corporate sponsorships and brand promotion at the National Wildlife Federation. “This enthusiasm shows that Americans care about getting out in nature and experiencing all that the great outdoors has to offer, and that our promotional partners have highly engaged consumers.”

“We knew this year’s Great American Campout would be a big success in light of all of the organizations that were able to partner together, and knowing that each is deeply invested in the lifestyle,” shared Paige Bouma, vice president of RV Trader. “We could not be more pleased with how many people took the pledge and chose to get outside and enjoy nature for the National Wildlife Federation’s great cause.”
