Class C’s maintained the momentum from 2017 with strong January sales while Class A’s remained flat as the overall motorized market showed a 5.6% year-over-year gain in retail registrations to open the new year.
According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Thor Industries Inc. was the motorized sales leader in January with a 39.7% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (24.9%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (12.5%).
Class A motorhome sales were down 5.8% for the month as Thor topped the segment with a 33% market share. Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. held the No. 2 spot in January with 17.3% of the market followed by REV Recreation Group (14.6%), Forest River (14%) and Winnebago (12.2%).
Class C sales rolled to a 17% gain in January with Thor leading the category with a 45.1% market share, followed by Forest River (33.6%) and Winnebago (12.8%).
