Three regional corporate and non-profit organizations, including RV water purification supplier No Dirty Water (NDW), announced a combined effort to provide environmentally friendly boxes of drinking water for the American Lung Association in Colorado’s “Run the Rocks” event on Oct. 14 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

According to a press release, Run the Rocks is a fun run/walk that raises funds for life-saving research and local programs for lung disease patients in Colorado.

In addition to NDW, participating companies include:

• W.S. Darley, a leader in water solutions, firefighting equipment and pumps for more than a century.

• Green Up Our Schools, a 501(c)3 non-profit that guides elementary school waste reduction programs.

Working together, these three players are providing clean drinking water in an environmentally friendly package for Run the Rocks. Specifically, the group will provide:

• A total of 160 Feelin’ Good/W.S. Darley 10-liter safe water boxes to provide drinking water to the nearly 1,200 people expected to attend the Run the Rocks event.

• Each 10-liter water box contains the equivalent of 20 plastic bottles of water, for the elimination of a total of 3,200 plastic water bottles that could find their way into landfills. Studies have shown that only 23% of plastic water bottles are recycled.

• The water boxes will be paired with compostable cups provided by EcoProducts to further reduce the environmental impact of the event.

“Run the Rocks is a fantastic event that highlights the natural beauty of Colorado while raising funds and awareness for the American Lung Association. There are so many exciting events each year that promote many worthy causes, and we are starting to look at how we can reduce the environmental impact of these events while also working to solve the world’s water issues,” said John Sztykiel, co-founder of NDW. “We are happy to partner with W.S. Darley and Green Up Our Schools on this event, as we all share the same vision for reducing waste, cleaning our environments and ultimately making a better world.”
