Alex Trebek RVs will be one of the categories during an upcoming broadcast of “Jeopardy!” CBS’s popular quiz show. On Dec. 9 long-standing host Alex Trebek will give three contestants a chance to test their knowledge of one of America’s popular pastimes. Escapees RV Club Rallying in Goshen, Ind.

The Escapees RV Club celebrates its 50th Escapade, which coincides with the RV industry’s 100th centennial. The “Honor the Past, Embrace the Future” event will take place Sept. 12-17 at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen, Ind. CalARVC Regroups After Holding Tank Veto

Much to the surprise of the California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CalARVC), California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed bill AB 1824, which would have banned the use of certain holding tank deodorants utilized in waste facilities and toilets on boats and RVs. Chem-Free Holding Tank Bill Goes to Gov

The California bill, AB 1824, that would ban the use of many holding tank chemicals, is swiftly on its way to its final destination – the governor’s desk. The California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CalARVC) is urging California campgrounds to write Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger encouraging him to sign the bill into law. More opposition has emerged to AB 1824, a controversial California bill that would ban the use of holding tank products containing six specific chemicals – bronopol, dowicil, formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, paraformaldehyde and paradichlorobenzene. RVIA Outlines ’10, ’11 Shipment Projections

The recreation vehicle industry is on the mend with a wholesale shipment forecast that indicates growth of 39% to 230,300 units in 2010. Shipments, according to a new estimate, are expected to grow to 249,700 units in 2011. The California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CalARVC) has taken an aggressive stance in support of state legislation banning the sale of RV and marine holding tank products containing six chemicals – most notably formaldehyde — on the premise that these substances threaten ground water quality. RV Tranportation Problems Persist for Some

Some RV manufacturers say the pressure on the industry’s transportation channels continues to build and that backlogs of up to six weeks in delivering RVs from factories to dealers are common. But others claim the transportation situation is easing up. Wisconsin Parks Meet on Brink of 2010 Season

The Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners (WACO) Convention was held March 18-21 at Stevens Point, Wis., with 281 people representing 105 campgrounds attending.
