The Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) announced Michigan Strategic Fund approval for an expansion project by Elkhart, Ind.-based supplier Lippert Components Inc., which recently acquired Innovative Design Solutions Inc.. Daimler Will Produce ‘Next-Gen’ Sprinter in U.S.

Daimler AG today said it will build the next-generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van in North America, shifting some production from Germany to improve competitiveness. Automotive News reported that Daimler currently assembles Sprinters in Ladson, South Carolina, from kits shipped from Germany.
