RVIA Works with Idaho, Va., to Define Park Models

In the 2017 legislative session, the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) successfully worked with two more states, Idaho and Virginia, to enact bills that define park model RVs (PMRV) as a type of recreation vehicle while also defeating a bill in New Mexico to define PMRVs as manufactured housing. Flexsteel Sees Drop in Sales for 3Q, Nine Months

Furniture maker Flexsteel Industries Inc. reported a decline in sales for its third quarter and nine months, reflecting lower retail demand when compared to the prior period record results. Revenue was $120.8 million for the quarter, ended March 31, compared to net sales of $125.4 million in the prior year quarter, a decrease of 3.7%. RVIA: FMCSA Renews Transporter CDL Exemption

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) this week announced a five-year renewal of its 2015 exemption from the federal commercial driver’s license (CDL) requirements for drivers who deliver certain newly manufactured recreation vehicles to dealers or trade shows before retail sale. Wells Cargo Moving Indiana Operations to Bristol

The Wells Cargo trailer plant in Elkhart, Ind., is slated to close by August, as operations are moved to a new plant in Bristol, according to an Elkhart Truth report.  Owned by Universal Trailer Corp., the plant is closing due to the opening of Universal Trailer’s new $25 million, 200,000-square-foot facility in Bristol, which was unveiled in March. Alpha Systems Eyes $8.5M Expansion in Elkhart

Camping World Moving Ahead on Ohio Site Plans

A proposed Camping World store took another step forward when Franklin City Council approved the rezoning of 35.7 acres fronting Interstate 75 near the Ohio 123 interchange.
