Fifth Wheel St. has introduced the web-based “RV Tow Check” app, available for free and accessible on smartphones and tablets. According to a press release, the minimum requirement for RV Tow Check requires three inputs by the buyer or dealer: gross combination weight rating (GCWR), gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and the gross vehicle weight (GVW). Ford Beefing Up Production for ’15 Transit Van

Ford Motor Co. said today (Sept. 15) by year end it will add 1,200 jobs and a second shift to build the Transit commercial van at a plant in Missouri, making it the automaker’s largest volume factory globally. Reuters reported that strong demand for the vans, which began production in April as a replacement for the E-Series, drove the decision to add the shift, Ford said. Pacific Coachworks Inc. announced it has added a second production line dedicated to manufacturing fifth-wheels at its home base in Perris, Calif. N.D. City Hears New ‘Indoor RV Park’ Proposal

The city council in Crosby, N.D., heard from a developer who wants to site a 42-space indoor RV park in the city’s South Ridge Acres development, the Bismarck Tribune reported. Pete Dunn told the council that he and his partner Frank Strocchio intend to put the RV park in the development. He said his plans are modeled after a similar but larger indoor RV park in Watford City. The Watford city park has about 250 individual RV spaces. Typically, strife in the Middle East means that the price of gas soars. FMCA Set to Debut Travel Assistance Program

The Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) announced the Oct. 1 launch of FMCAssist, offering emergency medical evacuation/repatriation and travel assistance program as an association-paid benefit.
