Gas is Cheap, But Not in Line with Oil’s Plummet

Filling up with gasoline in the U.S. is the cheapest it’s been in a decade and yet way too expensive. Bloomberg reported that the average retail price in the U.S. dipped to $2.595 a gallon on Sunday, down 7 1/2 cents from the previous week and the lowest for this time of year since 2004, according to Heathrow, Florida-based AAA, the nation’s largest motoring group. SSI: Canadian Coach Sales Retreat 34% for June

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome registrations plummeted 34.1% in June and 25.7% for the first six months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 25.4% market share, with Thor Industries Inc. holding a 23.2% share and Winnebago Industries Inc. 22.8%. SSI: Trailer Sales Drive June Towables Up 15.7%

Year-over-year towable RV retail registrations grew 15.7% in June and 16.7% for the first six months of 2015, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI). Results by category showed: Sales for the high volume travel trailer segment jumped 18.6% for the month and 20.1% year-to-date. Black Book: Wholesale Values Mixed during July

Black Book reported that wholesale auction values in July produced mixed results towable results declined while motorized units showed gains. “Once again, the used RV market throws us a curveball to keep us on our toes,” noted Eric Lawrence, director of specialty products for Black Book Taking a closer look at the markets, the average selling price for motorized units was $40,237, an increase of $1,179 (3.1%) from the previous month. Bretz RV Breaks Ground on New Site in Montana

A 40-acre recreational vehicle and marine dealership is being carved into the Lockwood, Mont., landscape southeast of Interstate 90.
