SSI: June Towable Sales Up 7% on Trailer Strength

Year-over-year towable retail registrations grew 7% in June – boosted by continued growth in the high volume travel trailer sector – while posting a 12% gain for the first six months, According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. SSI: Motorized Sales Gain 3.3% for June; 8.6% YTD

June motorhome retail registrations ticked up 3.3% compared to the same period a year ago while sales for the first six months grew 8.6%. According to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Thor Industries Inc. was the motorized sales leader through June with a 26.4% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (26%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (17.5%). Drew Industries Reports 22% Jump in 2Q Sales

Drew Industries Inc., parent to Lippert Components Inc., today (Aug. 4) reported consolidated net sales in the second quarter, ended June 30, increased to $441 million, 22% higher than the 2015 second quarter. Net income was $37.6 million, or $1.51 per diluted share, for the second quarter compared to net income of $20.9 million, or 85 cents per diluted share, for the second quarter. Patrick 2Q Income Up 38%, Lifted By RV Sales

Patrick Industries Inc. today (July 28) reported a 38% increase in net income for its second quarter, lifted by continued growth in the RV industry and “the incremental contribution from acquisitions completed in 2015 and 2016.” Net income in the second quarter, ended June 26, totaled $16.7 million compared with $12.1 million in the second quarter of 2015, while net income per diluted share increased 41% to $1.10 from 78 cents. RVIA: Best 6-Month Shipment Total Since 1977

Wholesale shipments to retailers of all RVs continued to race ahead reaching 40,072 units in the June survey of manufacturers. The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) reported that shipments during the month were 18.7% above June one year ago and marked the third monthly total in access of 40,000 units this year. Derald Bontrager Due to the recent acquisition of Jayco Inc. by Thor Industries Inc., Jayco President and CEO Derald Bontrager has resigned his position as chairman of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), effective immediately.
