SSI: Motorized Sales Flat for 6 Months, Edge up 2%

The overall retail motorized market was flat for the first six months of 2018 as sales edged up 2% during the period. According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Thor Industries Inc. was the motorized sales leader for the six months with a 43% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (22.9%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (13.7%). Lippert Reporting Record 2Q Sales of $684 Million

Elkhart, Ind.-based LCI Industries today (Aug. 2) reported record revenue during its second quarter, growing 25% to $684 million compared with $547 million in the prior year period. Cummins 2Q Sales Up 21%; ’18 Forecast Raised

Columbus, Ind.-based Cummins Inc. is reporting second quarter net income of $545 million, compared to $424 million during the same quarter a year earlier while revenues increased 21% to a quarterly record of $6.1 billion. Elkhart, Ind.-based supplier Patrick Industries Inc. reported a 49% increase in sales for its second quarter while net income soared 64%. RVIA: RV Shipments Pull Back For June; Up YTD

The RV Industry Association’s (RVIA) June survey of manufacturers found RV wholesale shipments finished at 41,990, a decrease of 11.4% from the 47,416 units shipped last June. All towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, totaled 37,784 units for the month, representing a 10.5% decrease compared to last June’s towable RV shipment total of 42,240.
