Patrick 2Q Sales Grow 49%; Earnings Climb 64%

Elkhart, Ind.-based supplier Patrick Industries Inc. reported a 49% increase in sales for its second quarter while net income soared 64%. Net sales totaled $604.9 million from $407.1 million in the same quarter of 2017. The increase was attributable to industry growth, acquisitions, geographic expansion efforts, and market share gains. RVIA: RV Shipments Pull Back For June; Up YTD

The RV Industry Association’s (RVIA) June survey of manufacturers found RV wholesale shipments finished at 41,990, a decrease of 11.4% from the 47,416 units shipped last June. All towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, totaled 37,784 units for the month, representing a 10.5% decrease compared to last June’s towable RV shipment total of 42,240. SSI: Towable Sales Climb 7.1% For Five Months

The travel trailer and fifth-wheel segments continued to show gains during May, as retail registrations grew 7.1% for the first five months of 2018. According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), results by category showed: Travel trailer sales climbed 7% for the five months. Fifth-wheel registrations rose 9.7% through May. RV Retailer LLC (RVR), Fort Lauderdale, Fla., announced Friday (June 29) that it has acquired Motor Home Specialist (MHS), a dealership that promotes itself as the “No. 1 volume motorized RV dealership in the world,” from the O’Banion family, according to a release. The RV Industry Association’s (RVIA) May survey of manufacturers found RV wholesale shipments finished at 45,070, a decrease of 1.7% from the 45,853 units shipped last May. All towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, totaled 39,714 units for the month, an increase of 0.1% compared to last May’s towable RV shipment total of 39,690. Winnebago’s 3Q Income Soars on Towable Gains

Forest City Iowa-based Winnebago Industries Inc. today (June 20) reported an 18% increase in revenue while net income soared 67.7% during the company’s fiscal third quarter, ended May 26. Sales totaled $562.3 million compared to $476.4 million for the fiscal 2017 period.
