RVIA: August’s RV Shipments Best in Eight Years

Manufacturer shipments to retailers tracked by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) improved in August this year, climbing to 27,330 units – a small gain over last month and a 3.4% gain over this same month last year. Thor Sees Record 4Q, Full Year Sales & Earnings

Thor Industries Inc. today (Sept. 21) announced record consolidated sales and net income from continuing operations for the fourth quarter and full year ended July 31. Sales from continuing operations for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015 were $1.06 billion, up 2% from $1.04 billion in the fourth quarter last year, as sales of both towable and motorized RVs posted slight decreases from a year ago, offset by the inclusion of a full quarter of revenue from Postle, which was acquired on May 1, 2015. SSI: July Towables Rise 11.3% on Trailer Strength

Year-over-year towable RV retail registrations grew 11.3% in July and 16.5% for the first seven months of 2015, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI). Results by category showed: Sales for the high volume travel trailer segment increased 14.4% for the month and 19.8% year-to-date. Winnebago’s Olson to Step Down as Interim CEO

Bob Olson Winnebago Industries Inc. announced that Robert J. Olson notified the Board of Directors that, effective Sept. 24, he will be stepping down as the interim CEO.
