SSI: Towable Sales Rise 4.1% in Oct., 12.2% YTD

Year-over-year towable retail registrations grew 4.1% in October, again lifted by the high-volume travel trailer market, while posting a 12.2% increase for the first 10 months. The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) 54th annual National RV Trade Show ended Dec. 1 after a robust display of industry participation that included dealers, suppliers, manufacturers and media converging on the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Thor Reporting Record Revenue, Income for 1Q

Thor Industries Inc. today (Nov. 28) reported record first-quarter net income of $78.7 million, or $1.49 per diluted share, on record revenues of $1.71 billion for the first quarter ended Oct. 31. Totals reflected Jayco Inc.’s contributions during the quarter, which Thor acquired on July 1. RVIA: Shipments Soar 14.5% in Oct., 13.8% YTD

RV wholesale deliveries to retailers raced ahead in the month of October this year posting total shipments of 38,765 units, up 14.5% ahead of this same month one year earlier. Five of the seven vehicle categories improved over this month last year with conventional travel trailers rising by the largest unit total while folding camping trailers rose by the largest percentage gain. SSI: Sept. Canadian Towable Sales Tumble 24.4%

Year-over-year Canadian towable sales tumbled 24.4% in September and 13.8% for the first nine months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).
