January motorhome retail registrations dipped 1.7% compared to the same period a year ago, according to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI). Thor Industries Inc. was the sales leader for the month with a 23.9% market share, edging out No. 2 Forest River Inc. which captured a 22.5% share. Winnebago Industries Inc. was third with a 21.5% share. RVB/GE Dealer Survey: 95% Posted ’14 Profits

The vast majority of North American RV dealerships — 94.8%  – were profitable in 2014, according to a nonscientific “2015 RVB/GE Dealer Survey” of RV retailers co-sponsored in February by RVBusiness magazine and GE Capital Commercial Distribution Finance (CDF). Elkhart, Ind.-based Thor Industries Inc. today (March 5) announced improved sales and net income from continuing operations for the second quarter, ended Jan. 31, compared with the weaker results reported a year ago that were adversely affected by the harsh winter conditions in early 2014. Larry McClain Funeral services for longtime RV dealer and former Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) President Larry McClain will be held on March 6 at 11 a.m. at Putnam City Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, with internment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
