Elkhart, Ind.-based Patrick Industries Inc. today (July 30) reported a 30.8% increase in net income for its second quarter compared to the same period last year, lifted by strong RV sales performance coupled with six RV-related acquisitions completed in 2014 and the first six months of 2015. Forest River Inc.’s West Coast Operations is expecting between 150-200 dealership personnel to attend its upcoming West Coast Open House, set for Aug. 18-20 at its manufacturing plant in Harrisburg, Ore. RVIA: Shipments Up 3% in June; Rise 5.5% YTD

Wholesale shipments to retailers of all RVs improved modestly in the June survey of manufacturers, rising 1% over the previous month and up 2.9% over the June total one year ago.  June’s increase reversed May’s small decline and returned RV shipments to its more recent trend line. Through June, RV wholesale shipments have now risen to 202,653 units, ahead of last year’s results by 5.5%. The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) is rapidly progressing with plans to roll out the Technicians in Training (TnT) program nationally by the end of the 2016 fiscal year which would be a full year sooner than originally planned. SSI: Towable Sales Rise 11.2% in May, 16% YTD

Year-over-year towable RV retail registrations grew 11.2% in May and 15.9% for the first five months of 2015, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI). Results by category showed: Sales for the high volume travel trailer segment jumped 15.7% for the month and 19.3% year-to-date. RV One Superstores Inc., with five locations in Florida, New York and Iowa, has announced it will begin selling motorized products manufactured by Winnebago Industries Inc. According to a company announcement, RV One will offer 2016 Winnebago gas and diesel motorhomes beginning with the Largest Motor Home Show in New York State. SSI: Motorized Sales See 11.1% Increase for May

May motorhome retail registrations rose 11.1% compared to the same period a year ago while sales for the five months grew 12.8%. According to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Forest River Inc. was the motorized sales leader through May with a 27.8% market share, ahead of Thor Industries Inc. (25.2%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (19.4%) share.
