Highland Ridge RV Plans $5.7 Million Expansion

Highland Ridge RV has announced plans to double production at its Shipshewana, Ind.-based operations and create up to 65 jobs by 2019. The subsidiary Middlebury-based Jayco Inc. subsidiary reported in a press release that increased sales led to the need for the $5.68 million expansion. The company plans to break ground this spring on a 92,000-square-foot facility on its Shipshewana campus. Construction is set to wrap up in September. RVIA: Wholesale Shipments Gained 4.9% for ’15

Wholesale shipments posted a robust finish to 2015, rising to 28,025 units in the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) December survey of manufacturers, 4.8% ahead of the final month last year and the largest December total since 2005. For the year as a whole, all RV shipments reached 374,246 total units, an increase over the previous year of 4.9% and the best yearly total since 2006. SSI: Canadian Towable Sales Slide 16.9% in Nov.

Year-over-year Canadian towable sales declined 16.9% in November and 11.9% for the first 11 months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI). SSI: Towable Sales up 17% in Nov., 16.6% YTD

Led by another strong performance in the travel trailer sector, year-over-year towable retail registrations grew 17% in November and 16.6% for the first 11 months of 2015, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.
