Winnebago Industries Inc. reported lower net income on slightly higher sales for its fiscal second quarter, ended Feb. 28. Revenues for the second quarter were $234.5 million, an increase of 2.5%, versus $228.8 million for the fiscal 2014 period. RVIA: Shipments Continue to Climb in February

RV wholesale shipments to retailers tracked by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) continued to improve in February reaching 32,045 units during the second month this year, a 12.5% increase over last month and a 4% increase over this same month one year ago. Retail sales of towable RVs climbed 8.2% in January from a year ago, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. Results by category showed: • Sales for the high-volume travel trailer sector grew 9.5% for the month. • Fifth-wheel registrations were up 8.9% in January. • Folding camping trailer sales declined 22.1% for the month. • Recreational park trailer sales fell 5.9% in January. January motorhome retail registrations dipped 1.7% compared to the same period a year ago, according to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI). Thor Industries Inc. was the sales leader for the month with a 23.9% market share, edging out No. 2 Forest River Inc. which captured a 22.5% share.
