Thor 3Q Sales Top $1 Billion; Income up 13%

Thor Industries Inc. today (June 5) announced that sales for its fiscal third quarter topped $1 billion, lifted by strong performance in its motorhome segment coupled with an 8% increase in towable sales. Revenue in the three-month period, ended April 30, grew 13% to $1.05 billion compared with $929.8 million a year ago. Net income from continuing operations for the third quarter was $55.1 million, or $1.03 per share, up 13% from $48.7 million, or 92 cents per share, in the prior-year third quarter.... Read more

RVIA Survey: 20M to Go RVing This Summer

More than 20 million Americans will travel in RVs throughout the summer months, heading to the country’s 16,000-plus campgrounds and enjoying time outdoors with family and friends, according to a recent Campfire Canvass survey of RV owners by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and Cvent. Curtin: RV Shipments Will Rise in ’14 and ’15

Richard Curtin Recreational vehicle shipments are projected to total 349,400 units in 2014, an 8.8% increase above the 2013 total of 321,127, according to a new forecast by RV industry analyst Richard Curtin released today (June 2) at the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) Joint Committee Luncheon. Airstream enters RV market in Norway Airstream Inc. has partnered with a dealership in Norway for the first time in its 83-year history. April Shipments Up 5.4%; Best in Seven Years

Manufacturer shipments to retailers of all RVs were measured at 33,774 units in April this year, a gain of 5.4% over the same month last year. After a hectic winter where severe weather constrained some deliveries, it appears a semblance of normalcy has returned to the RV market. SSI: Towable Sales Flat in March; Grow 0.7%

Year-over-year retail towable registrations remained flat in March, up 0.7%, and showed a 3.6% gain for the first three months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.
