Harold “Hal” Gerring, 87, of Elkhart, Ind., who formerly owned four firms in the RV and manufactured housing industries, died Jan. 13 at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was the retired owner of Holly Park Homes, Ger-Win Vans, Amerigo Inc. and Holly Inc. He had been a member of the Mobile Home Manufacturers Association (MHMA) and Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).
Gerring was born March 23, 1923, in Elkhart to Joseph and Katherine (McClain) Gerring. He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Winona; one daughter, Sharon (Ralph) Bradley of Elkhart; two sons, Kevin (Chris) Gerring of Middlebury and Robert (Patty) Gerring of Elkhart; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. Tuesday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart until the service at 11 a.m. Pastor Lee Campbell of New Hope United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
