Bucars RV Centre announced the appointment of Kevin Digness to the position of sales manager, effective Oct. 15.
According to a press release, Digness brings 35 years of experience in the RV industry. He first worked at Prairie Motorhome Village – the RV dealership his father owned in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He has since served as a key figure in the growth of the Woody’s RV World dealership group in Alberta and, most recently, with Arbutus RV on Vancouver Island.
“We couldn’t be happier to invite Kevin to the Bucars RV Centre family,” says Bucars Owner Jeff Redmond. “His professionalism, ability to focus on unparalleled customer service, and team leadership skills will be a large contribution to our dealership.”
“I have a growing family here in the Calgary area and I’m excited to be back,” said Digness, who has a son and daughter-in-law living in Calgary. “It was a good opportunity. I’m excited to be with a great organization and familiar people I’ve worked with in the past. My focus will be to lead an extremely knowledgeable sales team and ensure our customers are well taken care of.”
In addition to RV experience, Digness has served as director of the D.A.R.E. program as well receiving a rookie of the year award from Optimist International, an organization focused on youth involvement and participation.
Kyle Redmond of Bucars RV Centre in Balzac, Alberta, has been elected as the new chairman of the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada.
According to a press release, Bucars RV Centre is a family owned and operated RV dealership that “prides itself in providing quality products and services for RV enthusiasts.” Redmond has been involved with Bucars RV Centre since the Redmond family purchased the dealership in 1989 and on a full-time basis since 1998.

Through the years, Kyle has worked at just about every job in the dealership, from washing RVs and renting tent trailers during the summers to service manager and now general manager.
Redmond earned a bachelors in physics from the University of Montana and worked in the oil industry for a few years before returning to his family roots. With his father, Bill Redmond, retired, he and his brother, Jeff, share the responsibility of running the business. With the increased volume of sales the dealership moved to a much larger location in Balzac in 2006, just outside of Calgary.
Redmund has served on the board of the RVDA of Alberta as a director, has chaired the Calgary RV Show Committee and is also the current president of the RVDA of Alberta.

• Vice Chairman George Goodrick, Adventure Sports Ltd., Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Jeff Redmond, general manager for Bucars RV Centre, was awarded the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Alberta Dealer of the Year Award. The prize was bestowed to Redmond on July 20 at the RV dealership in front of staff, family and friends.
Through trying times, a full-blown recession and a rainy 2010, it was evident to the RVDA of Alberta that this RV dealer has stood the test of time, according to a press release.
“I’m truly honored by the award and nomination and have the staff to thank for always putting in their best, every single day,” says Redmond about receiving the award. “I’ve also been blessed with some great mentors and partners and will continue to honor our traditions, missions and values as one of Alberta’s, and Canada’s, best RV dealerships.”
Through this award, Redmond has received another nomination – RVDA of Canada Dealer of the Year. Being awarded with this honorable prize would be the icing of the cake for Redmond, who has always maintained that it’s never about the awards and always about “how we can make a difference in the industry and RVing dreams come true for our customers.”
In the award, RVDA of Alberta Executive Director Dan Merkowsky cited Redmond’s career accolades, including:
• Started working at Bucars since it was purchased by the Redmond family in 1989, helping it grow from 10 employees to over 60 today.
• Served on Alberta RVDA board from 1999-2005 and as the association’s president from 2003-2004.

Bucars RV Centre, a leading RV dealership near Calgary, Alberta, has launched a new referral program that offers everyone an opportunity to earn free fuel.
The Bucars RV Centre Referral Rewards Program allows anyone an opportunity to make an unlimited number of referrals to Bucars. If a referral makes an RV purchase from Bucars, both parties get free fuel. The referring person could earn $350 while the referral who bought the RV could earn as much as $1,000, depending on the RV they purchase, according to a news release.
“Free fuel is music to anyone’s ears. And because Bucars relies so much on our loyal customers and their referrals, we wanted to give them both a gift of thanks,” says Jeff Redmond, general manager at Bucars.
The Referral Rewards Program is based entirely online at Bucars’ newly redesigned website, www.bucarsrv.com. Visitors can enter their friends’ and family’s names and e-mail addresses and hit “submit.” Once the referral makes a purchase, both parties get free fuel.
“It’s so easy, my non-web-savvy grandmother could do it,” says Redmond. “In fact, the only member of my family who can’t make a referral is my brother’s dog.”
The Bucars Referral Rewards Program was available online as of May 21 and can be accessed via the Bucars website or by going to http://www.bucarsrv.com/referralrewards.
Founded in 1959, Bucars RV Centre is owned and operated by Bill, Kyle and Jeff Redmond. Bucars carries trailers, fifth-wheels, motorhomes and recreational park trailers from select premium RV manufacturers. Bucars is also the first dealership to offer a regular calendar of free RV seminars through Bucars U and is located in Balzac, just north of Calgary.
