The new Windsport 34J Class A motorhome from Thor Motor Coach caters to larger families with a versatile bunkhouse floorplan design, according to a press release.
With a complete overhaul of the Windsport for 2013, the 34J removes the bunks from the camp side of the coach, allowing parents and grandparents to sit under the patio awning without disturbing the kids. The floorplan also opens up space for an optional exterior kitchen in the basement that includes a generous countertop area with integrated sink, portable grill and refrigerator.
Also offering flexibility, the 34J’s bunkhouse can convert from a sleeping area to a sitting area or a full length wardrobe while a pair of LCD TV’s allow for personalized viewing in each bunk. Once converted to a sofa, the top bunk TV can be removed and located across the hall for family viewing.
Living room arrangements are very family-oriented, as the seating in the coach is centrally located. Multiple players can all join in the action of family game night or share the bucket of popcorn during movie night. An optional overhead bunk provides full-size sleeping accommodations above the cockpit seats, bringing the overall sleeping capacity to eight.
The exterior is handsomely finished with Thor Motor Coach’s HD-MAX exterior standard along with optional full-body paint packages for an ultra-high-end look. Side-hinged slam latches on most exterior baggage doors afford easy access to the basement storage while the no-maintenance rotocast storage trunks are simple to wipe clean. A 32-inch LCD exterior TV located under the patio awning is now optional.
Standard features on all 34J Class A Bunk Houses include an Onan 5,500-watt generator, 50-amp service, dual 13,500-Btu air conditioners and a gas/electric water heater.
