SSI: Canadian Coach Sales Fall 19.5% in March

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales declined 19.5% in March while registrations were down 13.1% for the first quarter, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based firm noted, “The data for Canada is experiencing a delay. Once the data is complete for the month we will put it into the correct months.”

Thor Industries Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader for the three months, capturing a 22% market share, followed by Forest River Inc. (16.7%), Forest River’s Coachmen RV division (15.5%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (13.5%).

Class A registrations retreated 24.7% in March from the year prior and fell 17.5% year-to-date. Fleetwood RV Inc. was No. 1 in the category for the three months with a 19.9% market share, ahead of Thor (19.2%) and Forest River (13%).

In the Class C segment, March sales declined 12.9% while registrations dropped 6.3% year-to-date. Forest River held the top spot for the first quarter with a 25% market share followed by Coachmen RV (21%). Jayco Inc. and Winnebago both posted a 19% share.

SSI: Canadian Coach Sales Grow 23% in Feb.

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales soared 22.9% in February while registrations fell 6.2% for the two months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Thor Industries Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader for February, capturing a 21.3% market share, followed by Forest River Inc. (16.4%), Forest River’s Coachmen RV division (14.8%) and Fleetwood RV Inc. (13.1%).

February Class A registrations grew 39% from the year prior and were down 11.4% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the two months with a 21.8% market share, ahead of Fleetwood (19.2%) while Coachmen, Forest River and Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. all held an 11.5% share.

In the Class C segment, February sales matched the prior year’s total and were up 4.8% year-to-date. Forest River held the top spot for the two months with a 25% market share followed by Coachmen and Thor, both posting a 20.5% share.

Class A’s Impact Canadian Coach Sales in Jan.

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales declined 40% in January, pulled down by a drop in Class A registrations, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Winnebago Industries Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader for the month, capturing a 19.4% market share, followed by Forest River Inc.’s Coachmen RV division and Fleetwood RV Inc., each with a 16.7% share. Forest River and Thor Industries Inc. rounded out the Top 5 as both manufacturers earned a 13.9% share.

January Class A registrations fell 55.3% from the year prior. Fleetwood was No. 1 in the category for the month with a 28.6% market share, ahead of Coachmen and Tiffin Motorhomes Inc., each with a 14.3% share. Newmar Corp., Winnebago and Thor all garnered a 9.5% share.

In the Class C segment, sales gained 15.4% for January. Winnebago held the top spot for the month with a 33.3% market share followed by Forest River (26.7%), Coachmen (20%) and Thor (20%).

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales edged up 4.3% in December while registrations fell 3.3% for 2012, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader for the full year, capturing a 22.6% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (21%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (15.5%).

December Class A registrations declined 10.3% from the year prior and were down 6.2% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the 12 months with a 22.9% market share, ahead of Winnebago Industries Inc. (16.1%), Fleetwood RV Inc. (15.8%) and Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. (11.4%)

In the Class C segment, sales gained 27.8% for December and were flat for the 12 months, down just 0.2%. Forest River held the top spot for the full year with a 34.5% market share followed by Thor (19.1%) and Winnebago (14.9%).

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales edged down 2.2% in November while registrations fell 3.5% for the 11 months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through November, capturing a 22.7% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (21.1%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (15.4%).

November Class A registrations dropped 13.9% from the year prior and declined 6.1% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the first 11 months with a 22.9% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. and Winnebago, tied for the No. 2 position with a 16% share, and Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. with 11.4%

In the Class C segment, sales gained 44.4% for November and were flat for the 11 months, off just 0.6%. Forest River held the top spot year-to-date with a 34.7% market share followed by Thor (19.3%) and Winnebago (14.7%).

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales plummeted 55.6% in August while registrations were down 6.6% for the eight months. Statistical Surveys Inc. reported that data for the provinces of British Columbia and Manitoba are incomplete.

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through August, capturing a 24% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (22.3%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (14.1%).

August Class A registrations dropped 48.1% from the year prior and declined 8.2% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the first eight months with a 23.8% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. (16%) and Winnebago (14.9%).

In the Class C segment, sales fell 64.4% for August and 5.1% for the eight months. Forest River held the No. 1 spot year-to-date with a 35.7% market share followed by Thor (20.9%) and Winnebago (13.4%).

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales declined 6.6% in July while registrations rose 1.3% for the seven months. Statistical Surveys Inc. reported that data for the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario are incomplete.

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through July, capturing a 24.6% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (22.4%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (14%).

July Class A registrations were up 3.7% from the year prior but edged down 0.7% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the first seven months with a 23.3% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. (15.3%) and Winnebago (15.1%).

In the Class C segment, sales dropped 15.7% for July but were up 3% for the seven months. Forest River held the No. 1 spot year-to-date with a 36% market share followed by Thor (21.6%) and Winnebago (13.1%).

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through June, capturing a 24.6% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (23.1%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (14.1%).

June Class A registrations fell 22.8% from the year prior and 1.5% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the first six months with a 23.1% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. (15.7%) and Winnebago (14.8%).

In the Class C segment, sales dropped 19.9% for June but were up 6.4% for the six months. Forest River held the No. 1 spot year-to-date with a 35.9% market share followed by Thor (23.1%) and Winnebago (13.4%).

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales were flat in May, up 1.7%, while registrations rose 12.9% for the five months. Statistical Surveys Inc. reported that data for the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario are incomplete.

Thor Industries Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through May, capturing a 25.1% market share, followed by Forest River Inc. (22.1%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (13.4%).

May Class A registrations increased 16.8% from the year prior and 6.1% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the first five months with a 22.5% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. (15.8%) and Winnebago (14.9%).

In the Class C segment, sales dropped 6.7% for May but were up 19.1% for the five months. Forest River held the No. 1 spot year-to-date with a 32% market share followed by Thor (27.2%) and Winnebago (12.1%).

SSI noted that data for the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario were incomplete.

Thor Industries Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through March, capturing a 19.6% market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (16.4%) and Forest River Inc. (14.9%).

Class A registrations rose 27.5% from the year prior in March and 8.5% year-to-date. Forest River was No. 1 in Canadian Class A sales for the first three months with a 24.2% market share, ahead of Thor (19.6%) and Winnebago (16.4%).

In the Class C segment, sales increased 41.7% and 6.8% for the three months. Jayco Inc. held the No. 1 spot year-to-date with a 20.9% market share followed by Forest River (20%) and Winnebago (18.2%).
