Carson RV in Carson City, Nev., closed this week after 27 years, another Nevada recreational vehicle outlet that has gone out of business because of the recession, the Reno Gazette Journal reported.
“We’re sorry to inform you that due to the economy, we have had to close our doors as of Aug. 1,” a recorded message on its phone line states.
In January 2009, Mountain Family RV closed after 20 years of operation in south Reno, citing the economy’s impact on sales.
Carson RV opened in October 1983 and at one point operated outlets in Carson City, Reno and Elko in addition to Carson RV Toystore on Highway 50 in Carson City.
At the time of its closing, only the stores in Elko and at 4550 N. Carson St., with a 6,000-square-foot showroom, were operating, according to Carson RV’s website.
The recording at Carson RV also states that customers can receive service from other RV outlets, including Sprad’s RV and Paramount RV repair in Reno, and Pro-Tech RV Services in Carson City.
