Towing product supplier CURT Manufacturing announced that the company’s award-winning Easy Mount Electrical Brackets are now available to order from its Eau Claire, Wisc., distribution center and will be available at all 10 CURT distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada by March 5.
According to a press release, CURT’s Easy Mount Electrical Brackets provide a solution for unkempt trailer wiring. The brackets mount to a trailer hitch receiver tube with two stainless steel carriage bolts, requiring only one wrench for installation with no drilling is required. Unlike clamp-on brackets, RVers don’t have to wrestle with positioning as the easy mount bracket system is designed to be a perfect fit every time.
These solid steel brackets won’t break like plastic products and a durable powder-coat finish and stainless steel hardware stand up to rust. The bracekts are offered for four- or five-way flat plugs or in combo models that fit both four- and five-way flat and six- or seven-way round plugs simultaneously. Options are available in all common trailer hitch receiver tube sizes.
The product was awarded “Best New Truck/SUV/Van Accessory” at the 2012 SEMA show, recognizing the most revolutionary automotive products on the market or yet to hit the market. After receiving the New Product Award at SEMA, CURT was chosen to be featured in Truck Trend Magazine as a ‘SEMA 2012 Top 25 Product.’

CURT Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of towing products, introduced a line of Xtra Duty and Commercial Duty hitches along with an Xtra Duty+ and Commercial Duty+ line designed for heavy duty towing.
“Our customers want hitches that can carry their toughest, heaviest loads without the worry of their hitch bending or breaking. The new high capacity hitch line will bring our customers what they’ve been missing,” says Phil Cushman, senior vice president of engineering and OES business for CURT Manufacturing.
According to a press release, CURT increased Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) by 2,000 pounds or greater for both the Xtra Duty and Commercial Duty hitch lines. Xtra Duty hitches now have capacities up to 16,000 pounds GTW and a tongue weight of 2,400. The addition of XD+ series hitches pushes those capacities up to 17,000 pounds GTW and 2,550 pounds tongue weight. Commercial Duty hitches now have capacities of up to 18,000 pounds GTW and a tongue weight of 2,700 pounds while the new CD+ series can tow 20,000 pounds.
The XD and XD+ line has a 2-inch receiver opening and the CD and CD+ line has a 2 1/2-inch receiver opening. This line of hitches boasts large, powerful main bodies and the safety chain plates feature wide openings for hooks and chains. CURT uses strong, grade-8 hardware made with yellow zinc, which resists rust and corrosion. CURT also uses 9/16-inch bolts on most applications that amp up the strength compared to 1/2” bolts.
XD and CD hitches are completed with a durable carbide powder coat finish that will keep products looking like new. The Xtra Duty and Commercial Duty hitch line is now available. For more information and to watch a product video, click here.
Mike McKay, vice president of RV and trailer, CURT Manufacturing LLC, presented a check for $5,000 to the RV/MH Heritage Foundation Inc.’s “Burn the Bank Note” fundraiser campaign during a ceremony at the RV/MH Hall of Fame’s booth at the National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky. “We are delighted with CURT Manufacturing’s decision to accept the Peer Challenge from Jay Hesse, president of Blue Ox,” said Hall President Darryl Searer. “With CURT’s contribution, it means that Blue Ox’s donation has doubled, and furthermore, CURT Mfg. can now challenge other peers to match their donation.”
Hesse, who also serves on the Hall’s executive committee as vice chairman, proposed the Peer Challenge program after making his donation. “I want to personally thank Mike and CURT Manufacturing for accepting the Blue Ox challenge,” he said. “I always believed that there are a lot of companies and individuals in the RV and manufactured housing industries that would support the Hall if asked, and CURT Manufacturing’s donation reinforces that belief.”
Searer added, “When that request to help support the Hall comes from a friend or colleague in these industries, especially ones that believed in the Hall enough to contribute themselves, I think it adds integrity and substance to the request.”
McKay noted, “Those of us at CURT Mfg. believe it is important to give back to the industries we serve. Personally, I can think of few worthier causes than the RV/MH Heritage Foundation, an organization that not only celebrates and preserves our heritage and honors those individuals who helped make our industries successful, but also, the Hall itself presents a very positive image to the general public about our products and services.
“When we received Jay’s challenge, it wasn’t a difficult decision for our CEO Greg Hooks to make. He was pleased to help in what he believes is a worthy cause and an opportunity to give something back.”
The goal of the Burn the Bank Note campaign is to raise $150,000 in voluntary contributions by April 30, 2013, to be matched by the Robert “Boots” Ingram family, which has offered a $50,000 challenge grant. The $200,000 would pay off the Hall’s bank note to 1st Source Bank.
The RV/MH Heritage Foundation is a 501-c3 not-for-profit corporation, all donations are tax deductible. Donors can use our federal ID#: 35-1610362.to verify that we are a 501-c3 not-for-profit corporation in good standing with the IRS. Gifts may be made by mail, in person at the Hall, by phone at (800) 378-8694, or through the Hall’s web site at www.rvmhhalloffame.org.
