DRV Packages Residential Comfort in New Fiver

Howe, Ind.-based DRV Luxury Suites has been showcasing its new 38RSB3 fifth-wheel, a four-slide, fiberglass-skinned coach measuring 40 feet overall, the outside of which features no metal or rubber for a low maintenance, motorhome look. “It’s a newer product line that really kind of allows us to reinvent the wheel a little bit and provide a different interior for our customers – something that’s a little more contemporary,” explained DRV National Sales Manager Kyle Miller. “We take a lot of the elite features from our more expensive products and put that around the outside and then come back in with some of the things that you’re seeing in the residential market on the interiors.” Upscale amenities include quartz countertops and two-tone solid cherry stains, hand-laid wood plank flooring as well as new light features above the islands that are more residential. “They’re 110-volt lighting so that we can reach outside the everyday RV suppliers and grab things from the Lowes and Home Depots of the world – components and styles that people are truly using in their homes,” Miller noted, adding that DRV is following its customers’ own preferences. “Our customers, even though they’re Baby Boomers, are starting to like more contemporary styles instead of the age-old traditional RV look,” he said. MSRP: $135,000, “fully loaded.”

DRV Appoints Graves as New Product Manager

Howe, Ind.-based DRV Luxury Suites announced the hiring of Andrea Graves as product manager. According to a press release, Graves comes to DRV with a long history of success and accreditations in the interior design field.

“Andrea brings a lot of new and exciting perspectives to DRV and to the RV industry as a whole. She has spent over 10 years designing many different commercial properties, and with her knowledge and experience we are excited to have her onboard with DRV,” said Kyle Miller, national sales manager.

Graves noted, “I have always had a passion for interiors and creating spaces that make people feel comfortable and welcome. I am looking forward to this new opportunity to broaden my design capabilities and bring a new look to DRV Luxury Suites.

DRV said that Graves will be heading up several new and innovative designs and projects for DRV.

DRV Ups Production Based on Louisville Orders

Howe, Ind.-based high-end fifth-wheel manufacturer DRV Luxury Suites reported a strong showing at last week’s National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky.

“Coming into the show we didn’t really know what to expect due to our current dealer base stepping up so strong during the Open House this past September,” said Sales Manager Kyle Miller. “We were very excited to see our dealers this past week come in again and order product to carry them through the spring and their show seasons. We were also very pleased on the amount of new partnerships we made during the show allowing us to close around 20 new markets for the new year.”

As a result of the orders placed at Louisville, DRV Luxury Suites has stepped up production to ensure a timely delivery date for its dealer body.

“The entire DRV family wants to thank all our current dealers, and our new dealers, for their support of our company and our products,” Miller said. “They work very hard for us every day and that is a huge reason why we are experiencing this growth. DRV’s Tradition Draws Dealers at ‘Open House’

Howe, Ind.-based DRV Luxury Suites reported that the introduction of its revamped Tradition brand of luxury full-time fifth-wheels during September’s RV Open House was well received by dealers.

“We worked really hard over the past eight months to finish the transition we began for Tradition at last year’s Louisville Show,” said DRV Product Manager Rocky Holman in a press release. “It was extremely satisfying to see the reaction from our current dealers and pick up new dealers as well. We knew we could get this product right and now feel it’s the best product at its price point, hands down.”

Homan reported that due to the great response at Open House to Tradition, and the rest of the DRV product lineup, DRV is increasing production to meet demand and fill its dealers’ show season needs.

“With all the amazing changes we’ve made to Tradition, and the rest of our brands, we’re really pumped for the upcoming show season and the awesome retail response we’re going to have,” Holman predicted.

Tradition boasts two distinct décors: a standard mocha cherry décor to give dealers a style compatible with the mainstream RV market, and an optional DRV exclusive sage/mushroom painted cabinet décor giving customers a fresh, light modern environment.

“Since we introduced it, 90% of our retail orders for Tradition have been in the sage/mushroom décor,” Holman said. “Because it doesn’t look like other RVs, though, most dealers were nervous about stocking it.  But after seeing the strong retail demand over the past eight months, and the big additions we’ve made to the product for Open House, dealers are now ordering sage/mushroom for stock with great excitement.”

One of the new Tradition dealers is Kansas RV Center, in Chanute. Owner Mike Mitchell noted, “The new Tradition designs reveal the ‘innovative juices’ flowing at DRV today. The sage/mushroom décor is a breath of fresh air in RV interior design and we’re anxious to get our first ones on the lot. Our customers are looking for livability and quality, and demand products that can withstand extreme temperatures. Tradition provides a superior alternative to the ‘mass produced’ products at a similar price point.”

Scott Chaney, CEO of ExploreUSA RV Supercenter in Texas, was also impressed by the new Tradition. “The DRV team did a great job enhancing what we felt was already a strong product lineup,” he said. “We are especially impressed with the revised Tradition product and feel some of the unique new decors are going to score big points with the wives – which we all know make the final buying decision.”

In addition to the sharp decors, other improvement include solid-surface countertops with LED-lit edges, DRV logo-engraved matching solid-surface backsplashes, solid-surface entertainment center countertops (side entertainment models), raised panel cherry wood cabinet doors, two tiered over-the-island light fixture (with LED accent lights, LED puck lights, and drizzled glass pendant lights), raised panel inserts in kitchen island, Shaw hand laid vinyl tile flooring, Whirlpool 18-cubic-foot stainless steel residential refrigerator with drawer style freezer, radius fireplace, Bose sound bar and new designer window treatments.

DRV Reports Record Orders During Open House

Mobile Suites fifth-wheel by DRV

Fifth-wheel builder DRV Luxury Suites reported its 2013 Elkhart County RV Open House was the company’s best-ever in terms of orders written and dealer enthusiasm for the products.

According to a press release, DRV’s Open House product selection featured several all-new floor plans, exterior paint designs, woods, decors and lighting options.

“This was the biggest product overhaul in DRV’s history,” said Rocky Holman, product manager for the Howe, Ind.-based company. “Mobile Suites looks absolutely nothing like it did a year ago and the major makeover on our Tradition that began at Louisville last year is now finally complete.  Both have styles, decors, and features not seen anywhere else in the industry.”

DRV reported that the product overhaul was well-received by dealers. “The DRV team did a great job enhancing what we felt was already a strong product lineup,” said Scott Chaney, CEO of ExploreUSA RV Supercenter in Texas. “We are especially impressed with the revised Tradition product and feel some of the unique new decors are going to score big points with the wives – which we all know make the final buying decision.”

Orders taken during the first day of the Open House eclipsed previous records for the event. “With the large spike in orders taken at Open House, we are increasing production immediately to help meet our dealers’ stocking, retail, and fall/winter show needs,” added Holman.

DRV Sees Gains in May; Launches New Website

Luxury fifth-wheel builder DRV Luxury Suites continues to see strong sales in 2013, according to Statistical Surveys Inc.’s May towable report.

Sales of DRV’s Mobile Suites, Mobile Suites Estates, Elite Suites and Tradition full-time fifth-wheel brands were up 65% over 2012 year-to-date, the Howe, Ind.-based company reported. Additionally, sales for May increased 65%.

“We’re very proud of the product changes we’ve introduced over the past 10 months and are very pleased to see the marketplace accept them as strongly as it has,” said DRV Product Manager Rocky Holman in a press release.

DRV also announced the launch of a new, revamped website. “Our new website is more focused on helping our customers find exactly what they’re looking for in as few steps as possible, while bringing a fresh, vibrant look and style that we were missing in the past,” Holman said.  “It’s also more user friendly for dealers and sales people as a resource to help close deals.”

DRV Reports Continued Sales Growth For 2013

Luxury fifth-wheel builder DRV Luxury Suites reported continued year-over-year growth through the first four months as the company’s Mobile Suites, Mobile Suites Estates, Elite Suites and Tradition lines were up 62% in unit sales, according to Statistical Surveys Inc.

“In February we were really excited to be up 44% from last year, which is huge for an established manufacturer like us,” said Rocky Holman, product manager for the Howe, Ind.-based company, in a press release. ”So to have jacked that up even higher to 62% through April is absolutely incredible.”

The company said that sales through April were well above every year since the recession, and the numbers have brought new dealers into the DRV network.  “The best sales pitch in the world doesn’t mean anything if a product doesn’t sell, so being able to relate real, legitimate sales numbers to prospective dealers has been invaluable,” stated Holman.

DRV credits its loyal buyers and committed dealers for its continued growth.   “We can’t thank our customers and dealers enough and we’ll continue to strive to give them the best ‘True Residential’ fifth-wheels on the market,” added Holman.

DRV Owners Give ’14 Line Thumbs Up at Rally

Howe, Ind.-based DRV Luxury Suites reported a strong turnout for its Suites Owners International Travel Club last week as over 130 rigs gathered at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds.

According to a press release, National Sales Manager Kyle Miller was excited with the results from the rally and felt the morale of the company’s customer base is higher than ever.

“We are so grateful of our customers and their loyalty to our product and our company,” Miller said. “We had over 130 rigs attend, which makes this year’s rally the largest to date. We listen to our customers and do our best to support them. Our customers are the best tool we can use to help us continue to improve upon our product. They use them every day and know what they need and where they need it.”

Elkhart-based Tiara RV Sales partnered with DRV in hosting the rally, providing a large product display that allowed owners to view the newest models and features in DRV’s 2014 product lines.

“Tiara RV really supported our customers this week, and they went over and above to make this week successful,” stated Miller. “The timing of this event was perfect for DRV. We had a whole week with our customers, listening to their feedback, getting ideas and seeing what things we might be missing for our full-time customers.”

He added, “With the September Open House coming up our dealers will be excited when they see what we have done to take our product to the next level – and we have our customers to thank for these ideas.”

DRV Posts Strong 1Q, Market Share Rises 57%

Luxury fifth-wheel builder DRV Luxury Suites reported first-quarter sales for its Mobile Suites, Mobile Suites Estates, Elite Suites and Tradition lines are up 70% over the first quarter of 2012, according to the March report by Statistical Surveys Inc., while market share increased 57%.

“This has been our best quarter since the Great Recession and we owe that to our great dealer body and loyal customers,” Rocky Holman, product Manager for the Howe, Ind.-based builder, said in a press release. “What’s even more amazing is that we’ve had the most growth in our two highest end lines – Elite Suites and Mobile Suites Estates – the latter which debuted at last year’s Elkhart Open House.”

Holman attributed DRV’s growth to building full-timer fifth-wheels with residential style construction and amenities.  “We’ve pushed the envelope over the past year on what it means to build ‘True Residential’ RVs by adding standard residential appliances like Whirlpool side by side refrigerators, GE convection/microwaves, dishwashers, garbage disposals, plus Lane furniture and Shaw flooring,” he said.

Many of DRV’s customers will be in town for the Suites Owner’s International Travel Club rally at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds, June 10 – 14.  The annual rally draws DRV owners from all over North America.

“We look forward to having such a large group of our customers together to find out what we’re doing right and where we can still improve their RVing experience,” Holman  said. “We also get a chance to thank them for the great success we’ve had this year.”
