This year’s indoor Motorhome and Caravan Show, which took place during October at Birmingham, England’s NEC, attracted a record attendance of 93,323 visitors. Of those, 83,401 were paying visitors.
Out & About Live reported that dealers and manufacturers also said they saw a “significant increase in sales” compared to similar exhibitions at the same time of year or venue.
This was the first show hosted by the National Caravan Council (NCC), which is also organizing a similar indoor show at the Excel Centre in London Feb. 14-19.
When the NCC took over the October NEC show, it committed to reducing both exhibitor costs and the price of tickets. The busiest day was Oct. 15 when 25,912 visitors came through the doors.
The show was supported by both The Caravan Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club.
John Lally, CEO NCC, said: “The public now know they can come to shows and find an unrivaled range of products, information, advice and entertainment and all for a great value ticket price.”
