According to a press release Fun Country RV & Marine has been in business for nearly 20 years and specializes in fifth-wheel and travel trailer sales. The dealership is situated on the Texas and New Mexico border, allowing them to reach customers in both states.
“The Bay Hill has great eye appeal,” said Fun Country RV & Marine Vice President and General Manager Mike Gibson. “Our customers are looking for the attention to detail found in the Bay Hill and the exclusive graphics and high-gloss gel coat exterior are just some of the details that are really striking to customers.”
Gibson said the Bay Hill interior is an “eye-catcher” with Corian countertops, ceiling crown moldings and leather furniture standard in all models.
“Adding Fun Country RV & Marine as an EverGreen dealer will be a positive experience for this strategic territory,” said Dymon Farrer, Ggeneral manager of EverGreen fifth-wheel manufacturing. “The quality and affordability of the Bay Hill make it an easy and fast seller in the fifth-wheel market, especially among full timers.”
Middlebury, Ind.-based EverGreen Recreational Vehicles LLC announced that it has introduced its Tesla toy hauler line of fifth-wheels to the Canadian marketplace.
According to a press release, the Tesla will be represented by Canadian Regional Sales Representative Scott Gould, who has successfully represented the line of EverGreen Bay Hill fifth-wheels in Canada since August of 2013. He will now oversee all sales activities and retail training within Canada as well as continue to establish the Canadian trade territories with new Tesla and Bay Hill dealers.
“It’s exciting to be given this opportunity to oversee these two winning brands throughout Canada,” said Gould. “The popularity of the Bay Hill in Canada has been an inspiration. Now, with the addition of the Tesla brand, we can offer a more well-rounded complement of fifth-wheels to our Canadian dealers. The Tesla, and the people who buy it, make it a fun product to sell. It has many components and features that make it unique in the marketplace, especially cold weather insulation features that allow it to stand up against the tough Canadian elements.”
Dymon Farrer, general manager of the EverGreen fifth-wheels, noted, “Scott has been a great addition to our EverGreen fifth-wheels sales team. It was an easy decision for Scott to manage our new Tesla toy hauler fifth-wheel line in the Canadian territory after his success with the Bay Hill product.”

EverGreen Recreational Vehicles LLC has expanded its ultra-light Ascend travel trailer lineup for 2014, offering seven floorplans ranging in length from 17 to 23 feet.
According to a press release, the Ascend targets entry-level families as well as seasoned empty nesters. All Ascend trailers can be towed by smaller SUVs, crossovers, light trucks, minivans or large sedans and are engineered to be lightweight without compromising key appliances and essential equipment.
The Ascend is set off by the trailer’s distinctive curved front that makes it aerodynamic, but also offers weather-resistant qualities. Composed of a single piece of fiberglass material, the front seamlessly covers the entire roof of the travel trailer as well, allowing water to run right off rather than pooling and creating leaks.
The fiberglass roof, as well as the rest of the exterior walls of the coach, is vacuum laminated over the lightweight DuraLite Double Welded Aluminum Structure. Welded rather than screwed, with full framing around all door and window openings, the frame is built to be tough, flexible and durable. Another weight-saving feature is the Ascend’s ComposiTek construction in the inner sidewalls. Composites are lighter than wood but four times stronger, and resist mold, mildew, and rot that can eventually destroy travel trailers made entirely of wood. The underside of the Ascend floor is also vacuum laminated with ComposiTek, creating an additional barrier from road grime and unwanted pests.
Available in bunkhouse, rear lounge, and rear bath configurations, the Ascend’s interior is spacious and offers several residential features, including cabinets that are screwed and glued, not stapled, with raised panels in the upper storage areas. Drawers are fitted with smooth ball bearing drawer guides that won’t warp or stick under the weight of a full drawer.
There’s plenty of light inside the Ascend due to integrated skylights in the living area and large, frameless bonded and tinted windows with pleated shades. Energy efficient LED lighting keeps the Ascend bright inside at night without depleting power sources. The floor is made of a comfortable padded vinyl that is warrantied against cold cracking.
If campers are looking for entertainment, there’s a TV hookup with antenna, and the Ascend travel trailer is wired for a CD/ DVD player with interior speakers and the option of having an entertainment system that is compatible with USB powered music players like i-Pods and smart phones. The roof is wired for an air conditioner (optional 13,500 or 15,000 Btu) and a handy tank monitor system makes tracking all of these utilities a snap.

EverGreen Recreational Vehicles LLC and its Lifestyle Luxury RV division announced that the year-end numbers compiled by Statistical Surveys Inc., Grand Rapids, Mich., showed that EverGreen is the fastest growing company of the top 15 manufacturers in the towable RV segment for 2013.
According to a press release, the Middlebury, Ind.-based company showed the highest growth statistics for both unit growth (85.5%) and market share growth (60.4%) among the top 15 towable RV manufacturers.
The momentum for EverGreen was significant as the firm’s top position in the towable segment moved from 74.7% unit growth and 52.2% market share growth in September to the year-end numbers – an increase of over 10% in the fourth quarter alone.
“We’ve shown significant momentum throughout 2013 and it continues in 2014,” said EverGreen President and COO Mark Boessler. “We attribute our leading position to attracting and partnering with the best dealers in the business. Our entire manufacturing and sales team must also be commended, as we now have 10 unique brands to choose from. Our dealers are profiting from both our innovative designs and the variety of price points we are hitting.”
Boessler also noted that EverGreen’s policy of providing its dealers with true protected trade territories and rejecting the industry norm of selling similar brands in the same marketplace is also key to dealer success.
“We understand that our dealers have a dramatically higher rate of success and capture far more market share in their territories, without having to deal with cloned products being sold right across town,” Boessler added.

In 2008, a group of four Pilgrim International executives had been planning a new model that the recreational vehicle maker would market as more environmentally friendly.
As reported by the Elkhart Truth, they would incorporate more man-made composite materials rather than the commonly used luan, a wood that comes from trees in the rain forests of Malaysia and Indonesia. Because the composite weighs less than wood, the vehicle would also get better gas mileage, reducing fuel emissions.
But then came the Great Recession, causing Pilgrim, like many others in the area, to close its doors. Not only was their new idea suddenly grounded, but they were jobless.
“Obviously it was difficult to find employment,” said Doug Lantz, one of the former Pilgrim executives and now EverGreen’s vice president of sales and marketing. “As factories were going out of business and laying off management, and the wheels were coming off, we were all right in the middle of all that.”
As they pondered their own futures, the men still felt confident in their idea, Lantz said. But how could they possibly get their concept off the ground without a company?
They cleared a major hurdle when they won the support of influential investors Kelly Rose and Mike Schoeffler, longtime industry veterans whose buy-in soon attracted other investors. In late 2008, EverGreen RV LLC was born.
More than five years later, EverGreen last year was the fastest-growing RV maker among the 15 largest companies in the industry, according to Statistical Surveys Inc., an independent Grand Rapids, Mich.-based firm that tracks the RV industry.
