Quality Drive Away Announces Restructuring

December 30, 2010 by · 2 Comments

Effective Saturday (Jan. 1), Quality Drive Away Inc. and Baker Transport, now named Foremost Transport Inc., will have completed their plan for restructuring.

According to Devon Bechtel, president of Goshen, Ind.-based Quality Drive Away, the companies are being restructured to take greater advantage of their core competencies in the markets for which they provide transportation services. Quality has grown its share in commercial markets.

The restructuring will separate the companies into two operating entities:

  • Quality will become the operating company for delivery of all motorized vehicles such as motorhomes, semi tractors, buses of all types and truck bodies. Jim Nywening, who will serve as general manager of Quality, has 23 years of experience in the transportation industry.
  • Foremost will service the flatbed, towable and specialty trailer requirements of its customers including delivery of travel trailers, fifth-wheels, cargo trailers and tent campers. Matt Grierson, with 27 years of experience in the transportation industry, will be the general manager of Foremost.

Bechtel further stated, “I am excited about the prospects for 2011 with our new changes. We believe that these changes will allow us to be viewed differently in the marketplace, enhancing the continuity of what we do within our specific markets. I would also expect us to gain operating efficiencies as our companies focus on similar operating requirements of their customer base. Jennifer Miller, previously associated with the towable segment, will be heading the effort to streamline our administrative functions. We believe the separation of our companies will allow us to be more focused on what is important to support our customers.”
