The generosity of Forest River Inc. workers resulted in the company’s biggest Toys for Tots haul yet.
WNDU, South Bend, Ind., reported that every year, Forest River asks workers to donate money to the cause. And, they always seem to top themselves.
“When we come collecting, they’re willing to hand out,” said Forest River Human Resources Manager Angie Garza. “We collected $23,869 this year.”
That much money means dozens of carts full of toys. And, for the first time, Forest River filled two RVs with toys instead of one.
Some employees spent Friday (Dec. 6) night shopping for the gifts at a local Meijer store.
“I’ve known people in the RV industry, when it fell on hard times, this is the perfect example of where they go for toys is Toys for Tots,” said Forest River employee Christopher Browning.
Browning piled games and Lego sets into carts. He focused on getting gifts for kids ages 8 and up.
Forest River is dropping the RVs full of toys off this morning at Concord Mall in Elkhart during WNDU’s Toys for Tots drive.
