Go RVing Canada Launches New Promotional Video

June 16, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Go RVing Canada has launched a new video to promote the freedom, flexibility and fun of an RV trip.

The video, available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9tOhFgRjNE, showcases the many possibilities an RV vacation provides Canadians, according to a news release.

Meanwhile Go RVing Canada recently added two new tools to its website:

  • The new “Find a Campground Near You” tool is a resource for Canadians to find a campsite or campground within 100 kilometers of their home.
  • The “Cost-Comparison Vacation Calculator” allows Canadians to compare the cost of traditional vacations with the affordability of RVing.

Building on the success of these tools, the new video further cements www.gorving.ca as the first place Canadians should consult when heading out in an RV this summer. The Go RVing Canada website has extensive resources on everything RV-related from information on the RV lifestyle to tips and advice for buying or renting an RV across Canada.

“Consumers want to stretch their dollars in tough times, and RV vacations are a great way to do that,” said Go RVing Canada spokeswoman Alana Fontaine. “The fact that prices are lower than they have been in eight years means RVing will appeal to an even broader cross section of Canadians, regardless of their age or income.”

Building upon strong attendance numbers at the many RV shows and exhibitions that took place across the country this past winter, Fontaine expects many Canadians to discover the freedom, flexibility and fun of the RV lifestyle this summer.

The Go RVing Canada coalition was formed in 1997, and consists of RV manufacturers, RV dealers and campground operators. The coalition serves as the Canadian RV camping industry ambassador to provide the public and media with information about the benefits of RV travel. The coalition also seeks to enhance consumer information and satisfaction with the RV experience.

Go RVing Canada Debuts New Online Feature

May 6, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

go-rving-canada3 Go RVing Canada announced several changes to its website.

The website has extensive resources on everything RV-related from  information on the RVing lifestyle to tips and advice for buying or renting an  RV and now includes a “Find a Campground Near You” tool and a Cost-Comparison Vacation Calendar, according to a news release.

The new Find a Campground Near You tool is an effective resource for Canadians to find that perfect wilderness campsite or campground within 100 kilometers (62 miles) of their home. The easy-to-use tool allows Canadians to enter their postal code and generates a map with links to campgrounds in their area. Canadians now have access to hundreds of Go RVing Canada member campgrounds to plan an exciting weekend escape or an extended vacation.

The Cost-Comparison Vacation Calendar drives home the affordability of RVing. Canadians can now compare the cost of traditional vacations with the affordability of RVing. Depending on the RV model, an RV holiday can save a family of four anywhere between 50% and 70% over the cost of other forms of vacation travel, including that annual trip to the cottage. An RV trip including all RV ownership costs such as leasing payments, insurance, maintenance, tires and registration, still works out to be more economical when compared to a traditional week’s vacation for a family of four, when you consider the costs of flights, car rental, hotels and eating out at restaurants.

“In today’s economic climate, Canadians are increasingly looking for ways to save money and make their recreational dollars go further,” said Go RVing Canada spokesperson Alana Fontaine. “These new online tools are efficient and incredibly ideal to assist in the planning of this summer’s vacation. Whether it’s a quick weekend away or the annual family road trip, these new tools will save Canadians time and money.”

Building upon strong attendance numbers at the many RV shows and exhibitions that took place across the country this winter, Fontaine expects many Canadians to take advantage of these new tools as more and more Canadians discover the freedom, flexibility and fun of the RV lifestyle.

Canadian RV Shows See Strong Attendance

March 20, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Go RVing Canada announced the official attendance numbers of recent RV shows from across the country. Thousands of Canadians visited their local RV show this winter to take advantage of historically low prices that are at an eight-year low, according to a Go RVing Canada news release.

Shows and exhibitions have taken place across Canada and have seen strong attendance numbers, as more and more Canadians discover the freedom, flexibility and fun of the RV lifestyle, according to the news release.

Attendance figures for many local RV shows increased right across the nation. Overall show attendance was increased by as much as 19% from previous years. In many instances, daily attendance numbers highlighted show-stopping traffic, with reports of up to a whopping 39.5% increase on the Saturday, marking the best Saturday ever in the history of the show.

This weekend marks the opening of the Chilliwack RV Show, with shows also slated for Quebec City, Quebec, Sidney, British Columbia, and Kitchener, Ontario, in the coming weeks.

“In today’s economic climate, Canadians are increasingly looking for ways to save money and make their recreational dollars go further,” said Go RVing spokesperson Alana Fontaine. “It’s no wonder Canadians are heading to their local RV Show. We haven’t seen prices this low since 2001.”

Fontaine explained that with the decrease in prices for RVs themselves, gas prices have also been cut by more than half in the past year, making operational costs for RVs lower than they have been in past years.
