New Goldshield Fiberglass President Named

Goldshield Fiberglass Inc., an industry leader in custom molded composite products across a variety of industries including heavy truck and RV, today (Feb. 14) named Jeff Newport as company president.

Newport leaves his current role as production manager for Fleetwood RV Inc. to take Goldshield’s highest leadership position, according to a news release. As president, Newport will have full P&L responsibility and will oversee the company’s entire operations.

Newport brings to his new role over 15 years of leadership experience at various companies in the recreational vehicle and fiberglass industries, including Fleetwood RV, Dutchmen Manufacturing Inc. and Rinker Boats. He also briefly served as Goldshield’s general manager in late 2009.

“Jeff’s in-depth understanding of fiberglass and its many applications; his expertise in manufacturing and operations; and strong leadership ability are just a few of the intangibles that make him the ideal candidate for this very important role,” said Randall Swift, CEO of Allied Specialty Vehicles Inc., Goldshield Fiberglass’ parent company. “He has a clear vision for the future of Goldshield Fiberglass and I am confident that he is right person to take the company to a whole new level.”

Goldshield Fiberglass Renews ISO 9000 Status

GoldShieldFiberglass_LogoGoldshield Fiberglass Inc., an industry leader in custom molded composite products across a variety of industries including heavy truck and RV, today (Feb. 11) announced that it has successfully renewed its ISO 9000 certification – a designation given to companies who have implemented a quality system compliant with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Quality Management System.

This certification is a result of Goldshield Fiberglass Inc. successfully completing an audit by an independent quality system registrar, according to a news release.

Goldshield originally was QS-9000 certified in 1998. The company has maintained certification of their quality management system since then, with the most recent ISO 9001:2008 certification commencing in January  and extending through January 2013.

“The ISO 9000 certification highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to our customers,” said Chuck Wilkinson, CEO of Goldshield Fiberglass Inc. “For over 10 years, we have embraced lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement in product quality, cost, and delivery. Our ISO certification ensures the integrity of our quality system. In addition, we benefit from a work force that has an average of 14 years of experience per employee and a management team with over 135 years of combined experience in the composite industry.”
