Guardian logoUpper Sandusky, Ohio’s Guardian Automotive Products has laid off around 60 full-time employees, according to WFIN-Radio, Findlay, Ohio.

Plant Manager Neale Yeomans said they are involuntary and the affected individuals will be eligible for unemployment compensation.

Yeomans said the layoffs are a result of the economic downturn.

Spokeswoman Amy Hennes says there are 200 employees left at the windshield factory, which will continue to run a three-shift operation in anticipation of a future rebound in business.

The Upper Sandusky plant supplies windshields for RVs, heavy trucks, construction, buses, school buses and passenger cars.
