Around 440 RVers and 218 rigs assembled this week at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds in Goshen, Ind., for the 2011 North American Heartland Owners Rally.
The event, running June 15-19, marked the sixth year that Elkhart, Ind.-based Heartland Recreational Vehicles has hosted a national rally for its growing owners club. Organizers said that attendees, representing 29 states and three Canadian provinces, were enjoying a mix of instructional seminars, leisure-time activities and entertainment.
“We have something for everyone,” noted Jim Beletti, director of owners interests for Heartland and president of the Heartland Owners Club. “We are holding 24 seminars over three days conducted by our vendors that focus on the use, care and maintenance of your RV. And for those who are looking for something less technical, we have Heartland owners showing people the variety of hobbies they do while on the road.”
The proceedings also feature a marketplace with 23 vendors while six Heartland RV products are on display provided by Elkhart dealer Great Lakes RV Center.
Highlighting the rally, eight buses will be transporting club members on Saturday to Heartland’s manufacturing complex for a factory tour where Heartland President and CEO Brian Brady will address the group. Following lunch, attendees will take a tour of the RV/MH Hall of Fame on the north side of Elkhart.
“The real objective is for people to have a good time,” said Beletti. “It’s all about celebrating the camaraderie of RVing and being able to rekindle old relationships.”
Explore USA RV Supercenter, a Texas-based dealer with eight locations, recently was named the No. 1 dealer nationally for Heartland Recreational Vehicle’s line of Cyclone toy haulers.
Heartland Regional Manager Mike Aplin marked the milestone by presenting a plaque to Scott Chaney, Explore USA CEO, during an event at the dealer’s headquarters in Plano, Texas.
“Explore USA has been an outstanding partner for Heartland over the last six years with our Cyclone brand,” said Coley Brady, vice president of sales. “They have consistently been our top-rated dealer nationally, recognizing the great value, overall quality and compelling features in the Cyclone.”
Brady noted that Cyclone was ranked as the top-selling toy hauler by Statistical Surveys Inc. through March, due to the “outstanding efforts of premier dealers like Explore USA.”
“We are very excited and honored to be the No. 1 Cyclone dealer,” said Chaney. “Our customers love the Cyclone product and we share their passion while we sell it. Rest assured we’ll work hard to maintain that honor during 2012.”
Heartland recently added a new 3800 Cyclone fifth-wheel, equipped with a triple-slide floorplan and the “best living space of any toy hauler on the market,” according to Brady.
In addition, he noted, selected models in Heartland’s Cyclone franchise feature the company’s exclusive Titanium Technology. The aerodynamic cab-over design, acquired by Heartland from now-defunct Canadian builder Glendale International Corp., offers more living space than comparably sized fifth-wheels in a shorter overall towing length because of the patented use of space over the cab normally wasted.
