Hi-Lo Trailer Co. Inc. had some surprises for its dealer body when it unveiled its 2010 product line at the annual dealer meeting Aug. 13-15. To streamline and simplify operations, the company has done away with the Tow-Lite and Classic brands and “everything the company produces will simply carry the Hi-Lo brand,” according to Lukas Donough, sales and marketing director. Hi-Lo, in business since 1955, scaled back from eight floorplans to four and has redesigned everything to make it look more like the former Classic brand but with the Tow-Lite’s low price, he explained. MSRPs on the units range between $22,813 and $34,293. The 14 dealers who attended were favorably impressed and ordered enough units to keep the company busy into November, Donough told RVBUSINESS.COM. “Our goal is to have a backlog into the end of the year and generate more at the Louisville show,” he said. Hi-Lo, makers of the only telescoping travel trailer, also will be displaying new units at the Hershey and Pomona RV shows this fall. “We think we have a bright future,” he said. “This is the most excitement we’ve had in several years.” To help cut costs, Hi-Lo unveiled its new models at the Mohican State Park Resort and Conference Center near Bellville, Ohio, a facility 10 minutes from its factory in Bellville, rather than at more exotic location. The move was popular among the dealers who could also tour the victory and inspect production of the new models, Donough noted.
