The Lite Cylinder Co., a Franklin, Tenn.-based propane cylinder manufacturer, will be featured on The Science Channel’s popular show “How It’s Made,” premiering Friday (Jan. 21).
“We are excited for the Lite Cylinder make its television debut on ‘How It’s Made,'” Darrel Reifschneider, Lite Cylinder CEO, stated in a news release. “It is an excellent opportunity to show an international audience our unique product made start-to-finish right here in Franklin.”
The “How It’s Made” film crew visited the Lite Cylinder’s manufacturing facility in July to capture the entire manufacturing process. Hours of footage were condensed into an informative 4 1/2- minute segment detailing the intricate manufacturing and testing procedures to create a cylinder.
The Lite Cylinder is a propane cylinder made of a composite material that is translucent so propane levels are always visible, 30% lighter than steel cylinders and will not rust. The cylinders are used for grilling, boating, camping and hunting.

Winnebago Industries Inc. will be featured in a two-part episode of the hit show “How It’s Made” that airs on the Science Channel. The episodes, which feature how a Winnebago motorhome is made, will premier on Friday (Oct. 29) at 9 p.m. EST.
