After a three-month hospital stay, Irving “Stuart” Bull suffered a heart attack at a rehabilitation center in McLeansville, N.C., and passed away on Aug. 27, just three days after his 65th birthday.
Bull had faithfully served the RV Industry for more than 40 years, most recently Lightning RV Supply.
“Relationship and service are two words that easily described Stuart,” said Brad Green, president of Lightning RV Supply, his current employer. “He loved his family and his friends in the RV business. He never talked about retirement.”
“From the bottom of my heart, Stuart was my best friend in the RV Industry. He served me faithfully since 1973, and he never missed a beat,” expressed Carroll Lineburger, Terrell Camping Center in Terrell, N.C..
Initially employed as a road salesman for Atlantic RV & Mobile Home Supply in Greensboro, N.C., Bull’s success in North Carolina and South Carolina was one of personal service. The loyalty from his customers was mutual.
“Stuart was known in the RV Industry as a man who would do anything to serve his customers, and many times, driving out of his way to bring a needed part. He always took care of the dealers, and his dealers took care of him,” said Ray Hamilton, Camco Manufacturing.
In his spare time, Bull enjoyed playing golf with his friends and was a member of the Cardinal Golf and Country Club, serving on its board. He was committed to helping others by volunteering both time and resources. “Stuart was very generous with his time. For seven years, he and his wife, Virginia, helped me with a memorial golf tournament in my son’s honor. I will always appreciate the things he helped me with, both personally and professionally,” said Ben Goslen, Out of Doors Mart, Colfax, N.C.
Bull is survived by his wife, Virginia Nesbitt Bull; two stepdaughters; four granddaughters; and a brother and sister.
A celebration of his life was held on Sept.1 at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel in Greensboro. Memorial contributions may be made to two of his favorite charities: Barium Springs Children’s Home, 112 Moose Club Road, Statesville, NC 28677 or Make-a-Wish Foundation of Central and Western N.C., 212 South Tryon Street, Suite 1080, Charlotte, NC 27281 (www.wish.org ).
