JMS will unveil its first ever recreational vehicle, the Galileo travel trailer, at the 41st Annual Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Show Sept. 14-20 in Hershey, Pa.

The Howe, Ind.-based manufacturer of  mobile commercial facilities, will show what company president Bill Gibson described as a “high end, capsule-shaped” all-fiberglass 21-foot trailer resembling a spaceship and featuring solar panels, cork floors, high-end electronics (SONY flat screen TV, Bose cube speakers, AM/FM CD/DVD player with iPod), Mysteria countertops and Euro-style interior. MSRP for the 4,900-pound unit will be $34,917.

“If 100% of the people who come and look at it don’t go ‘Wow!’ I’d be very much surprised,” he told RVBUSINESS.COM.

“I believe it will have mass appeal, but not mass application,” he predicted. “We expect to sell hundreds, not thousands.”

Gibson, 45, a lifelong RVer, said the Galileo sprung from a  discussion two years ago that he had with its original designer. He revisited the idea earlier this year and struck a deal to take over the project.

Gibson is the active partner in the venture and said the company will build the Galileo in JMS’s 90,000-square-foot complex in Howe.

The Galileo will apply the same quality standards and innovation that have made JMS commercial facilities the industry standard, he said.
