The Sentral Group has acquired Junction City Wire Harness in Junction City, Kan., according to a press release.
Junction City is a leading supplier of wire harnesses into the specialty vehicle market, including recreational vehicle, trucks and buses. The acquisition gives Sentral a second manufacturing location and an additional 85,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space.
“We have been actively looking to add another facility to help serve the needs of our global customers,” stated Sentral President Bill Schlitz. “We have also been evaluating the specialty vehicle market for some time. Junction City is the perfect combination of both. They have great abilities, product knowledge, and most importantly, people. They also have outstanding relationships with many of the premier companies in that industry.”
When asked if the facility and equipment would be moved to the company’s Lincolnshire, Ill., headquarters, Schlitz replied “we absolutely intend to keep that facility open and right where it is. The whole point of this process is to expand geographically while adding new customer markets. It is our intention to support that facility in every way and grow it as much as we can.”
The Sentral Group now boasts over 125,000 square feet of manufacturing space in the United States, and over 200 full-time employees. Sentral Assemblies is a manufacturer of custom wire harnesses, cable assemblies, tubing assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies. Since its founding in 1990, the company has grown to be one of the largest privately owned cable assembly companies in the U.S. The company has a strong balance sheet and an excellent growth record.
