Lance Camper Manufacturing Co. has announced the list of winning dealers to be hosted on a “once-in-a-lifetime” trip to Dublin, Ireland, this fall. According to a press release, the winning dealers and their guests earned the trip based on wholesale performance over a designated period.
Jack Cole, president and CEO of Lancaster, Calif.-based Lance, stated, “We are very proud of the partnership we have established and share with our dealer body. Spending quality time with dealers and their guests during the annual dealer trip is always a highlight of my year.”
This year’s participants will stay at a luxurious hotel in the heart of Dublin with tours scheduled to Belfast while visiting the Titanic museum, dinner planned in a private castle and visits to famous landmarks like the Guinness Storehouse and The Old Jameson Distillery. Tours through the breathtaking lush green countryside are also on the agenda.
“In addition to being able to sell and service one of North America’s premier brands of truck campers, travel Trailers and toy haulers, a Lance dealer also enjoys the chance to earn a spot on a truly first class dealer trip Lance has been hosting for several years,” said Marketing Director Bob Rogers.
Gary Conley, national sales manager, added, “We are ecstatic about this year’s dealer trip. With many of our dealers reaching and exceeding their objectives, we all have much to ‘toast a pint to’ when we gather in Dublin this fall.”
Lance Camper Manufacturing Co. has entered into a marketing partnership with Brett Hite, a pro angler based in Phoenix, Ariz.
“As we put together our marketing strategy for this year, there were key lifestyle segments we wanted to be sure we had visibility in and one of them is fishing,” stated Bob Rogers, marketing director for Lancaster, Calif.-based Lance. “Based on owner surveys, we know fishing continues to be a favorite activity of Lance customers, especially with our truck camper customers, many of who pull boats behind their rigs. From weekend warriors to tournament pros, from inland lakes and rivers to salt water, fishermen love the outdoors and many of them enjoy RVing.”
Hite noted, “I couldn’t be happier to have Lance on board as a marketing partner. As a professional who relies on my equipment to earn my living, I only partner with the top-quality products and companies that build the best. Lance is a perfect example of that.”
Hite has been a professional for 11 years, with career earnings of $1 million-plus. This year has proven to be truly exceptional with Hite finishing fourth in the coveted FLW Angler of the Year standings. “After finishing first at the FLW Tour and BASS Elite opening events, I have had some really solid finishes to back that up so far this year,” said Hite.
Rogers added, “Brett was a Lance customer before we met and is a passionate truck camper enthusiast, spending 200-plus nights per year in his Lance Camper. He selected Lance based on quality and innovation and loves the competitive advantage his Lance provides him while on the professional bass tournament trail.”
Hite will be participating in the FLW Cup this August in Lake Murray, SC, where Lance will host an autograph session at their product display.
Lance Camper Manufacturing Co., currently marking its 50th year, is expanding operations in Lancaster, Calif., with the lease of an industrial building in close proximity to its production facility.
According to a press release, the facility will be utilized as a parts and supply storage center, which opens up manufacturing space at the main plant in the Lancaster Business Park.
“We are busting at the seams with the installation of a third production line to accommodate our new toy hauler travel trailer models,” said Jack Cole, Lance president. “This facility provides much-needed additional space, allowing us to purchase larger quantities of components, resulting in freight savings and streamlined production.”
Lance, which currently employs 430 people, continues to enjoy a great working relationship with the local community and as a local employer. The company said that with the expansion it would be hiring additional workers.

About an hour north of Los Angeles, in Lancaster, Calif., Lance Camper Manufacturing Corp. makes truck campers and travel trailers. In one very specific sense, they are luxury items: Things you don’t need to buy, but things you will purchase when or if you’re feeling economically secure.
And by secure, we mean pretty darn secure: These campers and trailers can cost upwards of $20,000.
According to a Marketplace Business report, CEO Jack Cole has worked at Lance Camper since 1966. He says they felt the recession in 2008 immediately, when sales plunged.
“And when that happens, we have to downsize,” Cole says. He says they went from 460 employees to 120. The cuts, says Cole, were painful. But now, they’re feeling the recovery.
“We’ve added new equipment, we’ve added more people,” Cole says. “The fact that our business is back, it’s a sign that the consumer is back.”
Cole says he thinks the recovery is real and says, “you’ll see a sign of a really good economy where [interest] rates tick up a little bit and people will still go out and spend” on things like a camper that often times people pay for with credit.
