Leisure Systems Inc. (LSI), franchisor of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, has released a new app called Book JP to make it easy for guests to book a campsite or cabin via their mobile device.
“Approximately 30% of our website visitors come to us via mobile,” said Michele Wisher, director of marketing for LSI, in a press release.
The main website for the 81-location campground chain, CampJellystone.com, had 1.1 million visits last year, 73% of which were first-time visits. Meanwhile, the site’s mobile version, CampJellystone.mobi, saw 500,000 visits, a 90% increase over the prior year, with 67% of those visits being made by first-time visitors.
With the demand for accessing information via mobile on the rise, LSI hired Niagara Falls, Ont.-based Mission Management to create an app in which guests can book right from their phone or tablet.
Guests can find Book JP on the Apple or Google Play stores, or click here. This page will automatically detect the device’s operating system and direct the guest to the appropriate version of the app – iOS or Android.
“We want to make the reservation process as easy as possible,” Wisher said, adding that launching an app and making CampJellystone.com compatible with mobile devices helps Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Parks improve their accessibility to younger campers.
Meanwhile, LSI has also hired Cincinnati-based US Digital Partners to redesign JPKid.com, the Jellystone Park website for children. The redesign work is expected to be completed later this month.
