Two RV dealerships in Canada are stepping forward to help the relief effort in Haiti.

The Telegraph-Journal in St. John, New Brunswick, reports that students, staff and families at Lakefield Elementary School have teamed up with Leisure Time RV Center for a “Spring for Haiti” fundraiser.

Two winning tickets will be drawn on March 12 for a one-night camping experience to take place on March 20 in the Lakefield Elementary School parking lot. Leisure Time RV Center has donated the use of five RVs equipped with power, heat, snacks and simple breakfast for the morning.

The first-place winner may invite two families to join them while the second-place winner may invite one family to share in the fun. Check in time is anytime after 6 p.m. with checkout by noon the following day.

Tickets are $5 each or three for $10.

All proceeds will be donated to help relief efforts in Haiti. Tickets are available at Leisure Time RV Center, Dobson Chrysler Dodge, KV Drugs, McPhee’s Bakery and Benjamin’s Books.

Ogopogo Media Inc. in Kelowna, British Columbia, reported that Voyager RV Center Ltd. in Winfield also is supporting the Canadian Red Cross’s Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Due to the enormous success of Voyager RV’s 5th annual online sale that occurred Jan. 27-31, the staff and management of Voyager RV Center donated $3,500.00 to the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

“The situation in Haiti is dire and these initial donations are going directly to meet the most urgent needs of the people. This is the largest deployment in the history of the Red Cross and we will be there for many years to come,” said Janice Bowden, director of marketing and development for the Canadian Red Cross, British Columbia Southern Interior Region.
