Lite Cylinders in place on RV

The Lite Cylinder Co., a Franklin, Tenn.-based propane cylinder manufacturer, will be featured on The Science Channel’s popular show “How It’s Made,” premiering Friday (Jan. 21).

“We are excited for the Lite Cylinder make its television debut on ‘How It’s Made,’” Darrel Reifschneider, Lite Cylinder CEO, stated in a news release. “It is an excellent opportunity to show an international audience our unique product made start-to-finish right here in Franklin.”

The “How It’s Made” film crew visited the Lite Cylinder’s manufacturing facility in July to capture the entire manufacturing process. Hours of footage were condensed into an informative 4 1/2- minute segment detailing the intricate manufacturing and testing procedures to create a cylinder.

The Lite Cylinder is a propane cylinder made of a composite material that is translucent so propane levels are always visible, 30% lighter than steel cylinders and will not rust. The cylinders are used for grilling, boating, camping and hunting.

The segment will premiere at 9 p.m. EST. Visit http://science.discovery.com for additional air times.

Founded in 2002, the Lite Cylinder Co. manufactures tens of thousands of cylinders in the U.S. for distribution worldwide. Cylinders are made in 10-, 20-, 25- and 33-pound sizes. The company is approved by the Department of Transportation and Transport Canada, as well as two European standards. For more information, visit www.litecylinder.com or call (866) 412-LITE (5483).
